Color Throwdown #623

Hi, all!
This is our last Color Throwdown Challenge of 2020, so I hope you'll take advantage of this fun and festive combo and play along this week.

I've used an absolutely awesome die set from Reverse Confetti as the base of my (gift) card and added another fun poinsettia and stag combo. I pulled it together with a green clothespin and stamped a to/from sentiment my go to Christmas set, Wrapped.

And now for a bit of inspiration from the CTD Team...

Color Throwdown 622 - Let's Be Merry!

I was in awe of the beautiful poinsettia cards by good friend Michele shared on Instagram last week - like the kind of card that stops you in your tracks and makes you wonder "how in the heck did she do that" kinda beautiful! Needless to say, I was within a few clicks of buying a new set of poinsettia dies to CASE her when I remembered seeing an old Die-namics Poinsettia set from MFT in my stash. I dug it out, added in this week's Color Throwdown palette (red, burgundy, cream and kraft) and stamps from Kerri Bradford Studio - Merry & Wrapped.

These stamp sets from KBS are so fun, so graphic and so easy to use! It's hard to see, but I used three of the Wrapped stamps to add interest to the red and burgundy layers, as well as to the reindeer die cut.

Another Snowy Scene

Another snowy scene for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge. You've heard the saying about strings of things in three, haven't you? Well, if that holds true, this will be my final snowy scene for a bit. I honestly doubt it, but let's have a little fun with it!

Today's snowy scene is brought to you using the dies from Julie Ebersole's Home & Hearth for Essentials by Ellen, and a simply sweet sentiment from Kerri Bradford's Merry. Love these two styles so. much. 🖤

Let's see what lovely inspiration the rest of the team is sure to grace us with...

{Deerly} Appreciated - CTD 620

Hi, all! Here we are with another Color Throwdown Challenge already, where does the time go?! I couldn't wait to get my hands on this adorable new stamp set from Reverse Confetti, so lucky me because Reverse Confetti is speedy quick with their order and delivery. Sorta like the Speedy Delivery, Mr. McFeely, on Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood, remember him? I digress. I stamped, watercolored and die cut a handful of trees and two of the deer to create my snowy scene and then stamped one of the sentiments to finish it off. Just light touches of the mint and violet colors of the challenge.

Ready for more inspiration? Here. you. go.

Color Throwdown #619 - Believe

This week's color challenge is classy mix of red, silver and aqua. I've used a set that I've had for a long time, love so much and have used so little. Sound familiar, friends? Sadly, this stamp set is from a sweet stamp company that is no longer in business. I created a scene filled with snowy hills and whimsical characters from Lil' Inker Designs Rustic Christmas. Count yourself lucky if you own this set.

Time for more beautiful inspiration from the team...

Oh, Joy!

I'm back with this week's Color Throwdown Challenge. Before I get to my card, I just want to thank you all for the kind words you left for me about being sober for a year now. From my heart - thank YOU!

merry | christmas bear

Ok, this week's colors are green, cranberry, orange and brown. What a complete and utterly yummy fall combo, right? I've decided to delve into the Christmas stamps this week using a sentiment from Kerri Bradford and image from Reverse Confetti. Love the combo! Both sets are in stock so just click on the set name beneath the picture.

Ok, time to get inspired! You know the drill...

365 Days Sober

Hi, friends! I'm celebrating a very personal goal along with this week's fun and funky color challenge palette - red, green, kraft and chartreuse. Yep, one year ago, inspired by some kick ass women, I decided to go sober for 100 days. I knew long before I reached 100 days that this was my new normal and I'm so damn happy to say that I've met another milestone this week - 365 days sober!

Color Throwdown #616

Welcome to Color Throwdown Challenge #616! This week's colors are cranberry, kraft and cream. I used a sweet snowman image from The Cat's Pajamas and colored it with Zig markers. The cute sentiment is from Kerri Bradford's stamp set, Merry.

CTD 615 - Spooky Halloween!

Welcome to this week's spooky Halloween themed Color Throwdown Challenge. I'm absolutely in love with the inspiration piece...like so much that I'm thinking I should auction off some of my 'stuff' and buy myself a GlowForge. They sure do come with a hefty price tag though. Uffda. I digress.  My card is a fun mix of stamped images from Reverse Confetti and my favorite die cut numbers from The Cat's Pajamas. I hand trimmed the white tag, and the kraft layer is the negative die cut of my favorite skinny trees from Your Next Stamp.

Color Throwdown 611 - Just A Note

 Hi, friends!
Welcome to this week's color challenge - grey, khaki and green.
I just love, love, love this color combo and hope you love it, too!

My card features a sweet succulent image from Paper Smooches which is no longer available. After heat embossing the image, I used Zig markers to loosely watercolor it. The sentiment is also from Paper Smooches as well as the ring trio die cut layer.

Let's see what the rest of the team has crafted up with this week's colors...

CTD 608: Welcome Fall!

Thanks for stopping by today!
I've got this week's color combo for Color Throwdown 608 and it's a gorgeous one at that!

I used fall images from Year of the Rat from The Cat's Pajamas and colored them in with Zig markers in orange, pink, peach and yellow. I also added touches of colored pencil shading here and there for depth.

CTD 607 - Punny Farm

I have a fun, interactive card for you this week featuring stamps and dies from two of my favorite companies, both near and dear to my heart: SugarPea Designs & The Cat's Pajamas

Whatever The Weather
Barn To Be Wild
Peek-A-Boo Frames

Each of the farm animals is watercolored in this week's Color Throwdown Challenge colors - yellow, purple and blue. Have you heard the poem, The Purple Cow? I remember reading it in our ancient set of Childcraft: The How & Why Library waaay back in my younger years and there was an accompanying picture of a purple cow. Growing up on a dairy farm in WI, I thought it was the funniest thing I'd ever seen. Anywho, that's where the inspiration for my card started. Oh my gosh, I just searched and found it! Anyone else remember this?

Childcraft, I love these books | Purple cow, Poetry for kids, Cow

The first view is all buttoned up with sentiments from SugarPea's Barn To Be Wild stamped on interactive Peek-A-Boo Frames from TCP.  The cloud and sun die cuts are from SugarPea, but I'm sorry to say they may not be available any longer.

This second view shows the windows opened revealing the adorable farm crew from SugarPea's Barn To Be Wild.

Finally, a peek at all of the elements before I put everything together. I love these punny sentiments and know just the special recipient who shares my pun-loving sense of humor. 🖤

Hooray!

Time for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge and I've got a fun, whimsical card to share featuring images from Picket Fence Studios and sentiment from Julie Ebersole's Totally Random Sayings Vol.3. I love how the two styles are in perfect tandem.

Color Throwdown #605 - Gnome Love

Imagine my excitement when my recent order from The Cat's Pajamas arrived (yesterday) freaky fast! That's the service you can always expect from Alma, owner of TCP Stamps. Yep, she's the real deal.

I just had to put those new stamps and dies to use for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge and managed to wrangle about 4 different products into my typical clean and simple design.

Besides my gnome-y crush, I just love those crisp, clean numbers and the stitched detail of the frame.

Click on through the team and guest links below for your weekly dose of inspiration. Enjoy!

CTD 604 - Love You

I chose the sweetest image from Picket Fence Studios to color up in this week's Color Throwdown Challenge colors - terracotta, black and white. I then added a scripty sentiment designed by Julie Ebersole for Ellen Hutson. And then, instead of a traditional tag top, I opted to lop off just one top edge for an asymmetrical look that contrasts sort of nicely with the softer, torn edge at the bottom.

You are going to luh-uhv this week's team inspiration - outta the ballpark, people!

CTD 603 - Embrace the Day

A new stamp set for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge from Picket Fence Studio.

My son, George, was inspired to give it a go this week as well. He chose a fun mix of Reverse Confetti images for his slimline card and colored them with Copics. I love how it turned out!

CTD 601 | Happy Hello

posh planters | fun & flirty | fancy frames

Orange, burgundy, green and pink...this week's challenge colors, warm and wonderful.
I've been eyeing up all the fun slimline cards around stamping town (3 or 3.5 by 8.5 inches) and decided to use a trio of posh planters to fill it up. This week's colors are just the perfect blend for this stamp set!
