CTD 615 - Spooky Halloween!

Welcome to this week's spooky Halloween themed Color Throwdown Challenge. I'm absolutely in love with the inspiration piece...like so much that I'm thinking I should auction off some of my 'stuff' and buy myself a GlowForge. They sure do come with a hefty price tag though. Uffda. I digress.  My card is a fun mix of stamped images from Reverse Confetti and my favorite die cut numbers from The Cat's Pajamas. I hand trimmed the white tag, and the kraft layer is the negative die cut of my favorite skinny trees from Your Next Stamp.

Here's more inspiration from the CTD Team:

Color Throwdown #574

Happy New Year! A new year of Color Throwdown Challenge is starting today with me as your hostess, so I hope you'll enjoy our inspiration and play along. Please visit the CTD blog for complete details.

Here's a look at my card which uses a nice mix of die cuts and a sentiment stamped in brown ink from Simon Says Stamp's Wishing You stamp set. The trees are my favorite sticky stems from Your Next Stamp and the teeny hearts are from Julie Ebersole's Home & Hearth...and we can't forget my favorite Postage Stamp layer from SugarPea Designs.

Color Throwdown #500

Let's kick off Wednesday with the 500th Color Throwdown Challenge! That's a lotsa color combos, right? This week's colors are gold, navy, blush and white and we're using keywords CTD500 in public galleries and #ctd500 and #colorthrowdown on social media. We'd love to have you play along with us.

I had Paris on my mind and pulled together a combo of SugarPea Designs and Your Next Stamp products for my card design. The sweet lad is Pierre from France (no longer available from YNS), and the Eiffel Tower, sentiment and postage edge layer are all from SugarPea Designs which you can find linked below.

SSS: Let's Go Wild!

I haven't played along with a Simon Says Stamp Challenge in awhile, so I checked in on this week's Wednesday Challenge and decided to get a little wild and crazy. Well, not really, but I did use some wild birds (sorta) in some wild colors, also known as crazy rainbow colors *wink*.

Card number one is a that wild and crazy toucan from the newly released Reverse Confetti set - Toucan of Friendship

After coloring mr. toucan with Copics, I added an embossed ring around him using Detailed Circles Confetti Cuts and a heat embossed sentiment and a few enamel dots.

My second card features this adorable flock of birdies from Your Next Stamp called Tweet News.

Since I had my crazy rainbow Copic colors out, I decided to color these cuties as well and then used the coordinating die to cut them out - easy peasy, and it gives such a nice bit of dimension to the card without adding too much bulk. I again added my favorite YNS Gumdrops - they're the best enamel dots, and YNS has such a great selection.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Happy Friday!

YNS Celebration + Color Throwdown #405

Hi all! It's a busy day on the blog today as I'm guesting with Your Next Stamp for their Design Team Dare: Celebration and gearing up with Color Throwdown Challenge #405

I decided to combine the two challenges using a newly released stamp set and die combo from Your Next Stamp called Happy Birthday YNS 2016. It's a fun set filled with every balloon pattern imaginable in addition to big and bold sentiments!

I'm particular to the stripes, of course, but I tried to use most of the patterns to give my clean and simple card a little pizazz and then added sparkly clear YNS Gumdrops.

I hope you'll make a little time to play along with both of these challenges this week, and I'll be looking for you on both the Color Throwdown blog and the YNS blog. By the way, you'll be eligible to win a YNS stamp set of your choice by playing along with the YNS Celebration Challenge with full details HERE.

CASology Guest Designer

I'm so excited to have been chosen to guest along with the amazing team at CASology! This week's CASology cue card is 'dizzy', how do you like that one?! I put my dizzy thinking cap on and came up with a sweet little get well spinner card featuring stamps and dies and from Your Next Stamp.

To create my spinner, I sandwiched white thread between two of the whale die cuts from Island Fun and then secured each end of the thread behind the circle opening of the card front. I also added a vellum 'wave', a sentiment from Sea Creature Sentiments and my new favorite White Sugar and Sparkle Gumdrops

I hope you have a chance to get dizzy with this week's CASology Cue Card Challenge!

Your Next Stamp 7th Birthday Blog Hop

Hi all, I'm thrilled to be hopping along with the crew at Your Next Stamp for their August release and 7th Birthday Bash! You'll definitely want to check out the complete hop order shown below as well as the Your Next Stamp blog for complete prize and sale details!

I had the opportunity to work with an absolutely fun and adorable stamp set called Tweet News - the sweetest birds on a wire complete with a flock of cute and punny sentiments. I'd seen the coolest card using this rainbow watercolor look and knew I had to try and recreate it with the Tweet News birdies.

I started by stamping and embossing the birds using Versafine Onyx Black ink and clear embossing powder on watercolor paper. Then I simply scribbled a rainbow of color over each using Zig Clean Color Brush Markers and washed the colors into each other with an aquabrush. Once dry, I stamped and embossed the sentiment in the same fashion as the bird image.

Take a minute to check out the above graphic which holds all the information you need to know for your chance at 1 of 7 gift certificates being given away to lucky commenters on the blogs linked below. You do not need to comment on all blogs, but it sure would increase your chances!

Also, there's a great sale going on in conjunction with the release - just one more reason to fill up your YNS cart to the brim! Thanks for stopping by to see me today, and be sure to leave a little comment before you go.

YNS Dare + Color Throwdown 400

Hey all, I'm so excited to be guesting this month with Your Next Stamp and have a snappy little shaker frame for the YNS Dare Challenge - Frame It!  Have you checked out the July release over at YNS? If not, you really need to take time to do so I'm also on board with this week's Color Throwdown #400 - red, green and white.  I hope you have a few minutes to stop by both the Color Throwdown Blog and  YNS Blog for a chance to win a stamp set of your choice by leaving a comment.

I used Flippin' Fabulous along with Island Fun die set to create a fun little shaker frame using an embroidery hoop. After stamping and coloring the images on watercolor paper, I adhered it to the back of the hoop and then filled it with a fun shaker mix. Then, I die cut a large circle from acetate, adhered it to the front of the hoop and embellished it with a watercolored palm tree from Island Fun. I think this would make an adorable gift bag tag.

YNS July Release Blog Hop

I am so excited to be hopping along with the crew at Your Next Stamp for their July Release! As you are reading this post, all new product are available in the Your Next Stamp online store, so be sure to check it out! Before you do that, I have a nautical (or patriotic if you're from the US) themed card to share with you featuring Me Time.

Me Time is such a fun set with endless possibilities! I decided on a big comfy chair in red with a nautical themed throw pillow in blue that I stamped with an anchor from Sea Sentiments. Chair and pillow were trimmed using the coordinating Me Time die set, and then I added white Gumdrops as 'buttons' to give it that tufted look. I really wanted my chair and pillow to pop, so I clear embossed the Me Time sentiment for a subtle tone on tone look.

YNS August Birthday Bash Release Hop

Happy Birthday, Your Next Stamp!

I'm so excited to be part of the YNS Birthday Bash Release Hop and have a fun little shakity-shake card featuring that partying pup from Party Animals. The set has three adorable party animals and sentiments galore!

I colored partying pup minimally with Zig Clean Color markers and a white colored pencil before embellishing his hat with a Glittered Gumdrop. Have you checked out the awesome assortment of Gumdrops over at YNS? They are definitely one of my favorite products in the store!

I created a hybrid sentiment using two of the sentiments included in Party Animals and I'm loving these to fonts together. Just another way to stretch those stamps!
