Color Throwdown 499

It's time for a new set of colors for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge, and we've got a fresh mix of green, yellow and blue for you to play with this week. I've used a combination of Reverse Confetti stamps for my card - Later Alligator & Coffee and You

Isn't he all dapper in his cute yellow bow tie? And what a guy, surprising his friend with birthday coffee.  Just doesn't get much better than that!

The sentiment and cuppa are both from the Coffee and You set, and Al and his bow tie are included in Later Alligator. I colored all images with Zig markers, trimmed them with coordinating dies and then popped them up above the sentiment with foam adhesive.

Color Throwdown #498 + Mix It Up #44

Welcome to double challenge Wednesday! It's my turn to share my take on the SugarPea Designs Mix It Up Challenge for June as well as this week's Color Throwdown Challenge, so I've once again combined the two challenges using the MIU sketch and CTD colors - peach, light pink, hot pink and green.

I used one of my favorites from the SugarPea Summer Release -  Stuck On You. I die cut two of the planters in peach and hot pink and then filled them with succulents in various shades of green. I also highlighted the greens with Zig markers here and there and really like the added dimension it gives them. Finally, I added a lighter pink blossom to the cactus and a stamped sentiment, highlighting it with a Zig marker as well.

As I mentioned, I used the CTD challenge colors with the MIU sketch which you can see in the above graphics. I'd love for you to play along with both challenges. There's a prize giveaway for the MIU challenge which you can read all about HERE on the SugarPea blog. Before I go, I'll leave you with links to the rest of the Color Throwdown team for more color inspiration. Have fun!

Happy Saturday, everyone! I'm popping in to share my June Stock Your Stash project featuring a handful of Confetti Cuts dies from Reverse Confetti. This month's SYS theme is Hello | Just Because, and I've chosen the 'hello' route.

I started with an Iced Aqua Hello base layered with patterned paper from the Under The Umbrella  6x6 pad. I then added a mountain and shining sun using the Tall Triangles and My Sunshine Confetti Cuts dies. I even got a little fancy and added a snowcap to the mountain using the Wonky Double Edge Scallop Border die.

SPD Sweet Peek Week - Dreams

Welcome to Sweet Peek Week with SugarPea Designs! We will be sharing sneak peeks of new products being released on Friday, June 15th. Be sure to stop by each day for fun, inspiration and a chance to win a daily giveaway. Complete details can be found at the SugarPea Designs blog.

I've combined today's featured products to create my card today. They are a match made in crafty heaven after all. I started by stamping the trio of BoHo Feathers in Versamark ink and then randomly sprinkling gold embossing powder here and there, making certain to not entirely cover any of them. After heat setting the powder, I die cut Dreams and popped it on top of a gold thread knot and then added a gold embossed sentiment from Dare to Dream for a subtle tone on tone look. I have many graduation cards to make, so I think I'll definitely be mass producing today's design.

SPD Sweet Peek Week - No Probllama

Welcome to Sweet Peek Week with SugarPea Designs! We will be sharing sneak peeks of new products being released on Friday, June 15th. Be sure to stop by each day for fun, inspiration and a chance to win a daily giveaway. Complete details can be found at the SugarPea Designs blog.

You've probably already fallen in love with Llama Just Say, right? Well, how about taking it up another notch and combining llama love with today's featured set, Message Letter Board! This SugarCut set is truly going to blow your mind with its endless possibilities. You should probably just hop on over to Pinterest and start a new board exclusively for your Message Letter Board ideas...just sayin'!

http://www.sugarpeadesigns.com/product/sugarcut-letter-message-board

After creating my llama scene, coloring images with Zig markers and die cutting them with the Llama Just Say SugarCut dies, I popped them onto a  Message Letter Board layer cut from aqua cardstock. I then cut the alphabet die from white fun foam and created my customized llama quote, NO PROBLLAMA. Oh my gosh, so fun!

Now, you may remember my llama card from Monday's sneak peek with the fringed aqua banner...it was also made with the Message Letter Board die. I simply trimmed off the die cut layer about 3/4" from the side and then snipped each of the flags into thirds with my scissors. Just one more way to stretch this new set o dies.

My card uses this week's Color Throwdown Challenge colors as well. Please stop at the Color Throwdown blog for all designers playing along with this week's challenge.

Today's featured stamp set is for all you succulent lovers out there - Stuck On You.  I stamped and die cut my cacti using the Stuck On You stamps and coordinating SugarCut dies and then popped them up on a black layer. I stamped a sentiment below the trio and popped a few enamel dots here and there. I'll be sharing more on that black layer with you tomorrow, so stay tuned!

SPD Sweet Peek Week - Llama Just Say

Welcome to Sweet Peek Week with SugarPea Designs! We will be sharing sneak peeks of new products being released on Friday, June 15th. Be sure to stop by each day for fun, inspiration and a chance to win a daily giveaway. Complete details can be found at the SugarPea Designs blog. After working with today's featured set, Llama Just Say, I sorta want a llama of my own. Luckily for me, there's a llama farm just down the road!

http://www.sugarpeadesigns.com/product/sugarcut-llama-just-say

Isn't this a fun set?! I always love to do a little Pinterest-research on new stamp sets and found crazy cute versions of llamas.  I settled on neutral colors for my background (more information on that tomorrow) and brighter and deeper hues on the luggage stack and (saddle) blanket to make them pop.

I also added a fringed banner which I'll also tell you more about this week. Let's just say it's a preemie sneak peek of upcoming products yet to be unveiled.  Finally, I used embroidery floss to 'tie' the whole stack around my llama's belly, cutting tiny slits at the top of the green suitcase so the floss could be more crisscrossed.

Good luck!
