Color Throwdown #654 - Hug Your Dog (on repeat)!

I'm excited to share this week's Color Throwdown card with you because it features my most favorite creature in the world - a cutie pie pooch! I've colored this sweet pup in shades of grey and kraft and left his bone 'white'. This image is another old wood mounted stamp from my collection. I don't think I could ever part with this cute guy. The sentiment is from a fun dog themed sentiment set from Taylored Expressions' Woof.

Here's your inspiration piece for this week's combo: grey, kraft and white. And there are links to more color inspiration from the CTD team. Hope you can grab your stamps and play along this week as I'm hosting and would love to see what you do with this neutral palette.

Spooky and Sweet {JiFFy}!

It's time to get JiFFy in October with my fellow gal-pals: Carole, Michele and Lori! If you're not familiar with our monthly JiFFy challenge, it goes something like this: one of us chooses the paper while another chooses the image to work with, and there you have it--the JiFFy (Just For Fun) challenge! This month our image is "Tabitha" from Taylored Expressions and our paper is "Countryside" from Crate Paper's Farmhouse Collection.

I have to admit that while I love both the paper and the TE cutie-witch Tabitha, mixing the two was a little bit of a challenge for me, so I went with "who says you have to use traditional holiday colors", and I quite like Tabitha dressed in 'olive aqua pumpkins'! To go along with the country-farmhouse feel of the paper, I added a bit of twine, burlap and buttons...oh, and that adorable little picket fence! I absolutely adore the size of the fence and if you likey-it too, you can find it at Taylored Expressions as well!

Thanks for stopping by today. I'll be back quite often this week with TCP Tuesday and more of YNS' 14 Days of Holiday Fun!

Season's Greetings {SFYTT}!

Is this a great sketch, or what?! I love all the possibilities for patterned paper layers, embellishments, depth and texture! Here's what I came up with using Taylored Expressions Snow Day Project Pantry Kit, The Cat's Pajamas CutUps Pennant die and a sentiment from Kim Hughes' Christmas Critters set.

This is the first time I've ordered Taylor's Pantry Kits, and I tell you what--I love them! All of the guess work is done for you--the card stock matches the patterned paper, and there are cute cute embellishments and ribbon included. Can I tell you how many hours I've spent trying to find the "perfect match" to some of my patterned papers?! I will definitely be ordering more from the TE Pantry! Ü

Let's see what the rest of the SFYTT crew has done with today's sketch, shall we?!

Happy "100th" TCP Tuesday!

We're havin' a party filled with lots of fun challenges and features of various TCP sets in honor of TCPTuesday #100 ! Leigh is heading up the 100th TCP Tuesday blog hope, so you can hop over to her place to start from the beginning, or perhaps you landed here from Tracy's blog on your way through the hop. When you finish up here, head on over to Ana for the next stop.

My supply challenge to you is to incorporate felt into your TCP Tuesday 100 card. You can see that I've used PJ Bear from A Beary Good Year and fashioned his scarf from a piece of green felt and then bling'ed it up with Twinkles from Taylored Expressions. PJ is colored with Copics (E31, E35) and he's holding a Smooch covered clover in Green Apple. I also used felt to layer the sentiment-button holder and wonky stitched the edges of the Garden Green layer. Last but not least is the fun patterned paper layer from my 6x6 pad of Nook & Cranny papers from Basic Grey.

Here's a detail shot of PJ's fancy scarf. I used teeny tiny bits of Crystal Effects, which I dotted on the scarf first, to adhere the tiny Twinkles and then positioned them with a tweezers.

Now, for the fun details:
Come play along with one or all of the Cat Pack celebratory challenges and increase your chances to win some fun TCP stamping loot! Also, be sure to sign in your creation(s) on Alma's slideshow. Next is a list of the Cat Pack challenges with each of the girls buddying up for a total of four challenges (sketch, inspiration, color, supply):

I can't wait to check Alma's slideshow this week to see what you've all come up with, so get going and get swanky!

Taylored Expressions Black Friday Blog Hop!

I'm so excited to be part of Taylor's Black Friday Blog Hop, featuring her Perfect Package Card Box! You may have arrived here from Alex Maldonado's blog, where the hop began, and if not, be sure to click on her link to start at the beginning. Before I go any further, I want to share some great shopping news from TE that you don't want to miss:
In honor of Black Friday and Cyber Monday (the two biggest shopping days of the year!), Taylored Expressions is offering 15% off everything in the store! Just use the promotional code TEBlackFriday upon checkout to receive the discount. You don't want to miss up to 50% off all JustRite products, Buy 2 Get 1 Free on Tiny Twinkles, and the new TE Shirts & Aprons!

I covered my box in designer paper by Rob & Bob Studio Holiday Slab V, as well as a strip of it on the cards that are housed so perfectly in this box. The box has a magnet to keep it closed but I decided to add a black grosgrain bow topped with a felt snowflake and button just for a little extra sumpin'-sumpin'! I have to tell you that once I decided on a theme for my box, covering it was easy peasy lemon squeezy, so don't be intimidated by the thought of time consuming alterations!

I also used some of Taylor's Tiny Twinkles on the card, to mimic sparkly snowflakes, and I love how they look. That sweet snowman that I can't get enough of is from Whipper Snapper's Think Snow (illustrated by Anna Wight). Below are just a couple more shots...and your next stop on the blog hop.
