Happy Wednesday or Hump Day, whichever you prefer! I'm here with my final post as the April Guest Designer with the Color Throwdown Challenge. It's been an inspiring month full of yummy color combos and I'm sad to see it end.
Today's colors had me convinced that I needed to create something nautical (my favorite theme), but I compromised a bit in order to get out of my box. I painted nautical stripes on my background layer and then layered it up with thread, enamel accents, sequins and a bold and beautiful butterfly.
That beautiful butterfly is Reverse Confetti's Butterfly Dreams and coordinating Butterfly Dreams Confetti Cuts. To make the striped background, I simply took a Zig watercolor marker, swiped it across watercolor paper, brushed water over the top of each and then spattered more water with a smaller brush and let dry.
I sure hope you'll make a little time to come on out and play along with this happy color combo! If you need a little more nudging and inspiration, head on over to the Color Throwdown Blog!
