MFT Wednesday Stamp Club: Go Badgers!

The My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club challenge is: It's Party Time - Celebrate the New Year in Style with your best party card! Well, here in Wisconsin, we'll be cheering on the WI Badgers football team at the Rose Bowl, so I decided to use a few of MFT's Die-namics dies, stamps and templates to create a Rose Bowl float--MFT style! Here's what I've used:
I had so much fun creating this little "float", combining all of these MFT goodies and cutting the template using my new Silhouette cutter. Yes, I finally broke down, or should I say "broke out" the credit card, and purchased an electronic cutting machine. I went with the Silhouette upon the advice of a few friends who recommended the Silhouette for it's ability to handle very fine cuts, such as that tiny "W" on the football jersey.

Thanks to all of you who stopped by in 2010...come back often in 2011! As always, stop by Kim's blog for a full list of MFT WSC participants and use keyword: MFTWSC12292010 over at SCS so we can see your best party card!

MFT Wednesday Stamp Club: Die-namics Challenge

Today's MFT WSC challenge is to use Die-namics as your focal point, so I chose my new Die-namics Game Night Spinner Die and Stamp Set Duo, with a few stamps from You Spin Me-Additions for Game Night as well. This fun birthday card is going to my niece, Keara, who turns "9" later this month. I incorporated her birth date, 12/28/01, into the spinner as well as the smallest snowflake from my beloved Die-namics Let It Snowflakes die.

Be sure to stop by Kim's blog today at 11am EST for a full list of MFT Wednesday Stamp Club participants, and then upload your Die-namics creation to SCS using keyword: MFTWSC12222010 for your chance at $15 MFT bucks!

Finally, I want to wish you all a VERY Merry Christmas. May your heart and homes be filled with peace and joy!

While visions of sugar plums danced in her {Pure Innocence} head...

Today's My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club theme is Pure Innocence + Christmas. I paired one of my newest PI purchases, Bedtime Story, with stamps from the Die-namics Spinner Die add-on set, Additions for Game Night. Her sugar plum filled vision is the Die-namic Cloud Trio Die, edged in Dazzling Diamonds glitter...you get the idea, right?! Ü

As always, stop by Kim's blog today at 11am EST for a full list of MFT Wednesday Stamp Club participants, and then upload your Pure Innocence Christmas creation to SCS using keyword: MFTWSC12152010 for your chance at $15 MFT bucks!

TCP Tuesday 139: Sketch Challenge

I've used this week's TCP Tuesday sketch to fashion a fun & festive gift card holder. The front embellishment piece was made with some of my most favorite ribbon topped with a felt snowflake, button and rhinestone. You don't recognize that gorgeous snowflake?! It's none other than our CutUps Snowflake die from The Cat's Pajamas. It's a "must have"!

Here's a peek at the inside of the holder, showing off a Christmas sentiment from Your Gift. Oh, and if you look up at the open flap in this picture, you'll also notice another CutUps die at work--Big Scallop. It gives that nice "finished off" look.

Just in case you're wondering, here are the dimensions of the gift card holder, for your "more efficient" crafting needs (that means, give me the darn measurements so I don't have to figure it out on my own, taking precious time away from my family): cut card base 4" x 9.25"; score at 1.75" and 6". Stop by Alma's blog for all the TCP Tuesday deets...

Have a wonderful Tuesday!

TCP Tuesday X2 & SFYTT

Hey there! I'm so behind on my TCP Tuesday cards, so I've combined the last two TCP Tuesday challenges, 137 (color challenge) and 138 (use any TCP holiday stamps). You can click on either number to be directed to Alma's blog for the challenge details. This fun little TCP card is also my (late) SFYTT card for this week, the last SFYTT of 2010. I've used the sketch from 10/8/2010 which you can see here.

My card uses two different sets from The Cat's Pajamas and of course, that splendiforous CutUps Snowflake die:
We were snowed in yesterday and while you'd think I would have had plenty of time to get my SFYTT card posted...it just wasn't so. You know how it goes...hubby needs your attention, the kids need your attention, etc...so, I apologize for my tardiness!

Have a great Sunday, all!

MFT Wednesday Stamp Club: Winter Wonderland

Today's WSC theme is Winter Wonderland. I've created a wintry scene using Pure Innocence Flurry of Love, and my new Die-namics Let It Snowflakes. I have to tell you that I'm a smitten kitten with the new snowflake dies--they're just the perfect size to cluster, as you see here. I feel as if I've created this "wintry scene" over and over the past few months with other PI images, but they're so darn easy to "make a scene" with that I couldn't resist!

Check out Kim's blog at 11am EST today for a list of the MFT gals playing along, and don't forget to upload your Winter Wonderland to SCS using keyword: MFTWSC12082010 for a shot at $15 MFT bucks!

Have a great day!

Welcome to a new month of SFYTT with a few changes for you. First off, we're playing SFYTT this week and next only, but we'll be back in January with some fun changes! Be sure to check out Jen's post today and in the new year for more information on that. This week and next, each of the SFYTT team is choosing a favorite sketch from the SFYTT archives and below is the sketch that I've chosen for today.

This sketch dates back to October 24, 2009 and I've always loved the card I made with it (excuse me for being...you know...a braggart type) as well as the sketch. You can see that card HERE, if you're interested. Here's my version of the sketch for today using MFT's A la modes Miss You a Latte along with a sentiment from TCP's Merry Wishes. I actually made 3 of these cards for a co-worker to give to 3 of her friends, accompanied by one of those cool ceramic travel mugs. Cool gift idea...lucky girls!

I'm anxious to see which of the past sketches each of the girls has chosen to use today, so let's get on with it. Jen also has two special guests playing along today, so stop by her blog to find out WHO!

MFT Wednesday Stamp Club

It's the first Wednesday of the month, and that always means a sketch challenge for MFT's Wednesday Stamp Club. I've used a darling Pure Innocence stamp today, Presents for You, and paired her with Mitten Weather patterned paper by Cosmo Cricket and a strip of crocheted lace from MFT.

Check out Kim's blog at 11am today for the entire list of MFT gals playing along with today's sketch, and then be sure to come and play along. When you finish your sketch card, upload to SCS using keyword: MFTWSC12012010 for your chance at $15 to spend as you like at the My Favorite Things store.

Happy Wednesday!

Miss You a Latte {SFYTT}

It's hard to believe that this is the last SFYTT for November already...where has the month gone?! It actually feels like January here in western WI with temps in the teens and 20's this week, so I thought I'd warm up with You Suit Me, one of the latest releases from The Cat's Pajamas. I've also used one of the new CutUps dies, Big Scallop, and a sentiment from MFT's Miss You a Latte.

Let's see how the rest of the SFYTT team has interpreted this week's sketch...always a feast for the eyes!

MFT WSC: Celebrate Thanksgiving!

Today's WSC challenge is to create something you're thankful for in honor of Thanksgiving, or simply something Thanksgiving themed, such as cards, party favors or table decorations.

I've made a cute apron card using a la modes, What's Cooking?, and it fits just perfectly over a bottle of wine. Those of us who are not entertaining need the perfect hostess gift Thursday, right?! So, why not whip up one of these, presented with a bottle of your hostess' favorite wine...or, your favorite wine! Let's face it, she'll be slaving away as you're sipping the wine watching her, so why not buy YOUR favorite, huh?!

Be sure to check out Kim's blog at 11am EST for the entire lineup of WSC participants, and then upload your Thanksgiving themed creation at SCS using keyword: MFTWSC11242010 for your chance at $15 MFT smackeroos!

Happy Thanksgiving to you all!

TCP Tuesday 135 Blog Hop!

We've got a great TCP Tuesday challenge for you today--to use any of the CutUps dies to make your own embellishments. How could I NOT take advantage of the new CutUps snowflake die released today?! I've used the snowflake on my pennant banner as a layer beneath the letters spelling out 'SANTA' using TCP's Babydoll Alphabet along with the newly released set, Define Good. How can you not love a set titled, Define Good, it just makes me giggle!

Here are a few fun details about my Santa Board:
  • The library pockets are embellished with various CutUps border dies, including: Icing, Inside Pinking, Apron, Pinking and Big Pinking.
  • The top of each border is embellished with the new Big Scallop Border CutUps die.
  • The background of each pennant is a photocopied page of a discarded dictionary where the definition for 'good' is found.
  • The frame measures 14x18 with a thin layer of cork behind the glass.
  • The alphabet used on each pocket is TCP's Coolvetica.
  • The patterned paper is Cosmo Cricket Oh Joy!.
Here are a few detail shots...

Now, let's not forget about the blog hop. You may have stopped here via Jen's blog, and if not, you might want to start back there since she's our TCP Tuesday hostess this week. Or, you can hop right along to Leigh's blog for more TCP goodness!

Thanks for stopping,

Those rascally penguins are at it again Round the Chimney! Sure, they look like they're all focused and on task, but as soon as you turn your head they'll be up to their usual high jinx! MFT WSC: The Sound of Music!

Today's Wednesday Stamp Club challenge is to pick out something from the theme of The Sound of Music and go with it. I picked a few of my favorite things from the lyrics below, including Pure Innocence Dog & Boy Snow Adorable.
"Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things

Cream colored ponies and crisp apple streudels
Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings
These are a few of my favorite things

Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes
Silver white winters that melt into springs
These are a few of my favorite things

When the dog bites
When the bee stings
When I'm feeling sad
I simply remember my favorite things
And then I don't feel so bad"
And on top of all that...I found do-a-deer, and the hills are alive (with the sound of music)! Be sure to check out Kim's blog at 11am EST for the whole list of MFT gals playing along, and finally, use keyword: MFTWSC11172010 when uploading to SCS for your chance at $15 in MFT cash!

TCP Tuesday 135: You Warm My Heart

Today is TCP Tuesday, and Toni is our hostess with a great inspiration piece, so be sure to check it out here. That's not all--it's also day 2 of The Cat's Pajamas Sneaky Peek week, and although I don't have an official sneaky peek for you today, I am using one of the upcoming sets for my card called Like You a Latte. Remember, all new stamp sets and CutUps dies will be available November 23rd (one short week from today!). Check out Alma's blog for all of the sneaky peeks this week!

Just a little reminder about all the great CutUps dies available at TCP, including the Pennant and Inside Pinking dies that I've used on my card today to create my wintry scene. I added bits of "snow" to the Inside Pinking die to hopefully resemble icicles hanging from the banner created with the pennants.

Have a great day!

Sneaky Peek Week starts today at The Cat's Pajamas. You can check out all the fun details on Alma's blog and SCS in the TCP forum. Today's Sneaky Peek is all about Snowflake Girl, and I've paired her with one of the new CutUps dies from the upcoming release. Is that snowflake to die for, or what?!

Toni, Sony and Joanne also have Sneaky Peeks today, so be sure to check.them.out!

A Sparkle {SFYTT}

This week’s sketch is sponsored by a fabulous company, SPARKLE CREATIONS! Not only have they sponsored our sketch , but they're giving away two of their adorable stamps to a lucky SFYTT participant: Holiday Emily and Rin with Snowman images. Speaking of Sparkle's cute images, check out Christmas Tree Ruby...

Ruby is colored with Copics and a gold Spica glitter pen for extra "sparkle". I added a computer generated banner strip because it would appear to me that Ruby is humming some holiday tunes as she trims her very traditional Christmas tree. I can't wait to see more Sparkle creations, so let's get on with "the list"!

Speaking of "lists", I have to admit that I haven't even begun Christmas shopping, or even thought about it until I woke up to snow on the ground this morning. Snowy weather always puts me in the mood for a little Fa-la-la-la-la!

MFT WSC: Let's Dish!

Today's MFT Wednesday Stamp Club theme is all about cooking, in-the-kitchen, dish it up...you get the point, right?! I decided to create a couple of recipe holders for all those favorite Thanksgiving and Christmas recipes using plain old 3x5 recipe cards, some patterned paper, my Die-namics Framed Greetings die, buttons, twine and Who's That Girl Lovin' From the Oven!

I love how these turned out and am even more excited that I'll have these within reach to jot down all the must-have recipes for the upcoming holidays. Or...I could use them as gifts?

Joyeux noel {SFYT}}

I cannot (cannot!) believe it's the last Saturday in October already, but alas, it is Saturday, so that means another great Sketch For You To Try. I had a little free time this morning to stamp because hubby shot a deer and promised George that he could go with to drag it out of the woods, which meant quiet stamping time for me (also known as "bliss")! Here's what I came up with...

I wanted a clean sorta vintage look, so I pulled out a favorite CHF set that puts me in that vintage mood. I stamped and embossed the snowflakes and sentiment using clear embossing powder and then embellished the main image layer with rhinestones and a felt bird (SU! Birds and Blooms die). Linen thread grounds the bird, giving her a spot to rest for a bit.

Finally, I did something I haven't done before and don't know if I'll try again: I used hot glue to secure the ruffles in the black grosgrain. I did this for stronger holding power (since I'd decided to ruffle the ribbon AFTER I'd secured the woodgrain embossed layers) and while that ribbon is not going anywhere soon, the hot glue was a bit tricky, and yes, I burned my fingers a bit, snort!

Here the list of SFYTT sisters playing along this week:
Jen del Muro & Lesa Smaligo
Amy Sheffer
Amber Hight
Jodi Collins
Megan Lock
Sony Christoph
Susan Liles

Hope you're all enjoying Saturday as much as I am (so far) and have a little time to get crafty this weekend!

Gettin' JiFFy!

Happy Friday! I'm pretty darn excited to be playing along with the JiFFy Girls this month...yep, feeling pretty darn JiFFy here in Wisconsin! Truth be told, I've admired every girl on the JiFFy blog roll for a very long time...they're all rock-stars, I tell ya!

In compliance with the official JiFFy guidelines, I need to let you know that the Michele Boyer sent out this month's image: Zoe in a Heart Mug (Stamping Bella), and Lori Craig sent gorgeous patterned paper: Moonrise Luminous from SEI. Great image, great paper--these JiFFY girls sure know how to make a girl feel "real special"!

I can't wait to see the rest of the JiFFY crew, so let's move it, but before I do, I just want to thank the JiFFy crew for having me along!

TCP Tuesday 132: Miss Ewe!

It's a color challenge for TCP Tuesday this week: red, pumpkin and pink! I decided to go with an open image -- "doodle on your notebook paper" sorta look with a stripey scarf for my cute little ewe (Sheepish). I've also used The Cat's Pajamas' CutUps banner die to reinforce our color theme with "ewe" stamped in Versamark using our Nightie Alphabet.

This card is for my TCP buddy, Leigh, cause I miss her! Leigh recently had surgery for a herniated disc in her neck that was causing the problems with her shoulder and arm. I can't wait for her to get back in the saddle and wow us with her TCP creations again! On that note...Leigh, don't be waitin' by the mailbox for this card--you know it always takes me forever to get them mailed!

As for the TCP Tuesday deets, link your card to Alma's blog and check out our hipster hostess, Sony, for more eye candy using this week's color combo.

MFT WSC: Tag, you're it!

Today's Wednesday Stamp Club challenge is titled: Tag You're It! Create a tag or a project featuring a tag and use keyword MFTWSC10272010 when you upload to Splitcoast for your chance to win a $15 gift certificate to My Favorite Things! Check out Kim's blog post (the MFT blog) at 11am EST today for a full list of the girls playing along with today's challenge.

Here's my tag, featuring Presents For You from the Pure Innocence line. The "noel" at the bottom of the tag was inspired by a layout I saw in my latest Pottery Barn catalog, and thought these papers from The Girl's Paperie Tinsel and Twig line went well with the "sorta" clean vintage look I was aiming for.

Hope you get a chance to play along...why not get started on a Christmas gift tag for that "someone special" on your list? I think this tag will go to one of my sweet nieces...hmm, which one is most likely to NOT throw it in the garbage?! Ü

Belated Boss's Day Wishes

A quick post to share a Boss's Day card I made for our elementary school principal...a little late, but as the saying goes: better late than never! So...I ran out of room and chipboard, so Boss's Day is actually Boss' Day in my world..thinking they might just want to change it to my way, ha!

Have a great day!

Congratulations {SFYTT}!

Today's SFYTT is sponsored by Laura Pryor of Lil' Inker Designs. Laura designed a cute, cute stamp set with a matching flag die. The die gives you that perfect flag every time, and the stamp set comes with a variety of borders and sentiments. Check it out at Lil' Inker Designs. Laura has a cute sample for today's SFYTT as well. You could be the lucky recipient of Laura's set just for playing along with today's sketch and linking it to Jen's blog. Good luck!

I paired my Lil' Inker Designs set with MFT's a la modes-Picture Perfect. Paper is Crate Paper Restoration, along with a fun ric-rac border cut with my Die-namics Jumbo Ric-Rac and Lemon Divine Twine from The Cat's Pajamas.

George's {Leaf Man} Cow

I just had to pop in today to share a fun little project George and I made yesterday after reading Louis Ehlert's Leaf Man. We had a great time hunting for leaves and creating our own cow like the one in the book. If you stop here regularly, you probably know how {in love} George is with cows...we have cows everywhere, and now a cool leaf cow to add to his collection.

Here is the book cover...

Now...if anyone knows where I can find a cow costume in a size 4-5, please help me along...I've had absolutely no luck finding one in George's size. Everything I've seen in the stores and online fits up to 18 months or adults. Might have to seek out a pattern and try my hand at sewing one...eek!

Have a great Thursday!

MFT WSC: It's in the Bag!

Today's My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club challenge is to decorate a gift sack or treat bag. I'd seen this super cute and fun idea over at Taylored Expressions blog and knew I had to pair the idea with my Pure Innocence set, Lather Rinse Repeat.

I had a sheet of kraft cardstock printed with MFT Stephanie Fizer-Halloween Dotty digi-papers and paired it with aqua cardstock die cut with my MFT medium Die-namics scallop to match my tubes of bath salts. A little-lot of Diamond Stickles, a button and twine finish off the embellishments here.

Stop by the MFT blog at 11am today for a complete list of the WSC participants and be sure to scroll through all the sneak peeks Kim has been showing this week--I love, love, love the new a la modes-What's Cooking!

Remember to add your project to the Splitcoast Galleries using the keyword: MFTWSC10202010 for your chance to win $15 at My Favorite Things.

TCP Tuesday 131: Think Pink Supply Challenge

Today's TCP Tuesday challenge is to use anything pink for your embellishments. The Cat Pack has decided to do a little Think Pink Blog Hop to coincide with the Think Pink Customer Blog Hop. Be sure to hop along to Carole's blog after you've finished here, and then keep hopping until you reach Alma's blog, where you'll find out the winner of the Think Pink Customer Blog Hop at 12pm PST. Are you confused? If so, I apologize, and just keeping hopping!

I've used pink buttons and pink ribbon on my Forget About the Cake card. A little extra sumpin'-sumpin' would include Diamond Stickles on the candle flames and Crystal Effects on the frosting. Sometimes those little extras can give your cards that little "it needs something"!

Be sure to check out Alma's blog for complete TCP Tuesday details as well as the place to link your creation. You may also upload your pink creation to Splitcoast using keyword: TCPTUES131.

Season's Greetings {SFYTT}!

Is this a great sketch, or what?! I love all the possibilities for patterned paper layers, embellishments, depth and texture! Here's what I came up with using Taylored Expressions Snow Day Project Pantry Kit, The Cat's Pajamas CutUps Pennant die and a sentiment from Kim Hughes' Christmas Critters set.

This is the first time I've ordered Taylor's Pantry Kits, and I tell you what--I love them! All of the guess work is done for you--the card stock matches the patterned paper, and there are cute cute embellishments and ribbon included. Can I tell you how many hours I've spent trying to find the "perfect match" to some of my patterned papers?! I will definitely be ordering more from the TE Pantry! Ü

Let's see what the rest of the SFYTT crew has done with today's sketch, shall we?!
