Summertime Sweetness with SugarPea Designs

When I think of this summer, my thoughts immediately turn to my new grandson, Nolan, and the time we enjoyed spending with him over the past few weeks. Summer is also synonymous with anything nautical in my mind, so I fused my two summertime sweets together and came up with this adorable anchor onesie using a few of my favorite goodies from SugarPea Designs - Anchored & Sugar Cuts - Welcome Baby Accents

Inspired by my stamping buddy Karolyn's ink blending, I knew I wanted to somehow incorporate the technic into my card, so I did a little blending on the die cut onesie after clear embossing the anchor stamp from Anchored on it first. Ranger distress ink + watercolor paper are a dreamy blending duo! And how about that sentiment - is it not perfect for my Nolan? Lastly, take a peek at my stamped background using the same anchor stamp that I used on the onesie. LOVE stretching those stamps!

What pops into your head when you think of summer? I hope I've inspired you to join along with the SugarPea Designs Summertime Sweetness and will head on over the SugarPea Blog for complete details.

Thanks for stopping!

Freshly Made Sketches 200 + Winner!

Reverse Confetti is sponsoring over at Freshly Made Sketches 200th sketch celebration, and I'm playing along with a sweet summer color palette and a fun combo of Reverse Confetti stamps and dies!

I just can't put down the Circle Garland Confetti Cuts die these days! I went with a single strand today as it seemed appropriate with the sorta graphic feel of the rest of the card.

Confessions of a Time Crunch

Have y'all ever had grand (d)illusions of creating a thick stack of beautifully crafted thank you cards? Me, too. I'd fully intended on creating a big fat stack of this design but pared down my efforts due to (what else) lack of time!

Our dear grand baby Nolan really is the boss now and kept us quite busy while he was visiting, so instead of watercolor/embossed/embellished thank you notes, we ended up with a thick stack of watercolor/stamped notes instead. Fortunately, just like Nolan, they turned out pretty durn cute, too!

I mean, c'mon, who could put this cutie down for too long, right?

When mass producing a design (simple or elaborate), think assembly line! After trimming my note-card bases (3.5 x 5 inches), I laid them out as pictured, dabbed distress ink (Ranger Peacock Feather) on a piece of acetate, spritzed it with water and smooshed. Repeat and let dry.

Then simply stamp your sentiment and boom, you're done! I know you're not supposed to have favorites, but this was my favorite 'smoosh'. Ü

Have a great day!

I remember a dear relative of mine using this saying years ago while recovering at home after a long stay in the hospital battling a life threatening condition. Today's card uses God is Good and the current Sketch For You To Try (SFYTT). This is an inspirational set that you could WIN just by leaving a comment on my original SFYTT post found HERE. You have until tomorrow night at 11:59pm CST to enter, so click on over and leave a comment before it's too late!

Reverse Confetti *Summer Sale*

Hello weekend, hello shopping!
Reverse Confetti is having a BIG BIG sale, folks, so head on over to the store to get 20% off everything on your WISH LIST! If you need a little reminder, I've got a couple of baby themed cards for you featuring a few of my favorite Reverse Confetti products!

As you know, I've got a new baby in town - my sweet baby grandson, Nolan. This sentiment from Lots to Say was just perfect for a few thank you notes for Nolan's mom to send out for all those fabby baby gifts he received while visiting Sconnie this past month.

I simply ink-smooshed a little distress ink over the clear embossed sentiment from Lots to Say and then embellished it with gold stars. So sweet, right? And so easy!

Second up is a girly baby card featuring Reverse Confetti's epic flamingo set - Fabulous Flamingo! Flamingos = pink, and pink = girls, so obviously, flamingos = girls, right?!

I'm all about mixing it up, and this was a match made in pink heaven! So Stripey was perfect for a striped edge as was Fancy Word Coordinates for my gold embossed sentiment.

Ok, folks, I hope I've given you a few ideas to add to your shopping card during the Reverse Confetti 20% off sale! Have fun shopping, and be sure to check out the rest of the inspiration as well!

SugarPea Designs - Sugar Sketch 29

Hello, friends! I'm kicking off the week with the SugarPea Designs gang and a new Sugar Sketch Challenge . You can click on over to the SugarPea Designs Blog to link to all the gals playing along when you're finished up here. I have to confess that I did a bit of tweaking with the sketch to make it fit my obsession with the Sugar Cuts - Notebook Journal Card pencil die, and here's what I came up with!

As you can see by looking at the original sketch graphic below, I used the sketch on my top layer rather than on the card base...you see, right?! I used the Notepad Journal die but then cut the pink layer a second time, cutting off about half the width to make a cute little pink notebook paper. I layered a fun gold pencil on top and stamped a simple 'hello' from Take Note, this month's Sweet Incentive set (meaning it's free with a qualifying purchase..sweet)!

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you enjoyed my card. I really hope you'll get a chance to get crafty and play along with this month's sketch as well!
