Hey, it's Crazy for Christmas - Ready to Party with Reverse Confetti! Crazy for Christmas is a three day event highlighting fun ways to dive into Christmas prep with tons of fun and inspiration provided by the Reverse Confetti design team. I've got three super simple, super fun ideas to bump up your disposable party ware.
Everyone loves the iconic red Solo cup, right? How about taking it up a notch with glittery fun foam, a few dies and ho-ho-ho sentiment from Jolly Holiday!
I cute a 1" strip of black fun foam (self adhesive) and mounted it on my cup. I then took a square of glittery gold fun foam, die cut it with two sizes of square dies and popped it in place on top of the black belt. Cute as is, but even better with the ho-ho-ho speech bubble stamp from Holly Jolly, and SO easy!
Next up is a napkin ring using the fishtail flag from Stitched Flag Trio and Holly Confetti Cuts. A simple little napkin ring takes a plain white napkin and plastic utensils from drab to dazzling in nano seconds!
I used partial die cutting with the fishtail flag to cut the green felt in order to 1) add length to my fishtail flag, and 2) cut a notched end on both sides. Then I sewed the two layers together to form a ring (the stitches are hidden by the holly embellishment) and added the holly on top. The holly berry is the circle die from the Layered Snowflake Confetti Cuts. I thought it was easier to have one big berry than trying to assemble and adhere three smaller berries. Bonus - I really like the way it looks!
My third project is a set of wine charms made from shrinkable plastic and stamps from Merry & Bright.
I used my MISTI to stamp the bulbs onto the shrinkable plastic for solid coverage using a hybrid ink. After allowing the ink to air dry for a few minutes, I die cut the stamped bulb using the coordinating Merry & Bright Confetti Cuts. Using die cuts with this type of project provides for a nice, clean edge.
Before shrinking them down in a 300° oven, I punched a hole right above the stamped bulb so I'd have a hole to thread my wire through.
And there you have it - a few quick and easy ideas to spruce up your party ware this holiday season! I can't wait to see what the rest of the design team has to share with us, so let's head on over to the Reverse Confetti Blog for the complete link list along with Jen's warm and cozy project for today.
