Exciting News + Double Challenge

I'm so glad you stopped by today because I have a bit of exciting news to share along with a fun card I created to participate in two challenges - Simon Says Monday Challenge: Trio of Colors & Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 284

I've seen a few of these full layer shaker cards lately and decided it would be perfect for the Sweet Sunday Sketch. The sentiment is from Simon's Big Scripty Greetings set and my most favorite anchor stamp from SugarPea Designs Anchored

I clear embossed both before watercoloring my trio of colors - Tim Holtz Distress Inks (Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmalade). After the background dried, I wonky stitched an acetate layer on top, filled in my shaker with Pretty Pink Posh sequins and then finished sewing across the top opening. I sure do likey and know just the person who might likey it as well.
How about some exciting news before I go? I've been a guest designer for SugarPea Designs this month and have been asked to stay on as a full time designer, which means you'll be seeing my SPD designs on a regular basis starting with Sweet Sneaks in another week or so!!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Mini Canvas Shaker Box

Happy weekend!
I hope you're enjoying a nice, long weekend with lots of time to (fill in the blank)...

I've got a really fun 'share' for you today using a mini 3x3 canvas turned shaker box. I recently had a similar project featured on Paper Crafter's Library using the Reverse Confetti Pineapples Aplenty. I hope you'll take a minute to check it out HERE

Warning: these mini shaker boxes are a bit addictive. Luckily, I had three more canvases in my stash, so George and my niece got in on the action, too!

See how excited these two are?!

This one is going in George's backpack for his first day of school. Hoping it will brighten his teacher's day as much as it did mine making it!

PCL Feature - Welcome, Little One

I'd love for you to join me at the Paper Crafter's Library Blog today where I'm repping Reverse Confetti with a quick & easy shaker box that coordinates with today's card. Both the card and shaker box feature Reverse Confetti's trendy Pineapples Aplenty Confetti Cuts  and sentiment from Fancy Word Coordinates.

I've had this yellow and white polka dot adhesive paper in my stash for years and decided it would pair perfectly with  Pineapples Aplenty Confetti Cuts. I've also had the green glitter cardstock stashed away for special occasions such as this and love the contrast between the glitter and the fabric. I love adding texture to my projects!

Lots of fun embellishments add color and interest, including washi tape, enamel dots and my favorite Confetti Cuts Circle Garland!

I hope you have a minute to stop over at the Paper Crafter's Library for my featured project - a quick and easy shaker box featuring the other half of the Pineapples Aplenty die cut. There is a chance to win a $25 gift certificate, so head on over to Paper Crafter's Library and leave a comment for your chance to win!

SugarPea Designs - Creative Color Challenge

You didn't seriously think I could put away my SugarCut - Welcome Baby onesie just yet, did you?! I used the color palette from the new Creative Color Challenge to blend up a tie-dye onsie that's makin' the grade!

Looks like I could use a bit more of the turquoise color, so maybe this one isn't quite an A+! I've layered my onesie on the SugarCut - Notebook Journal Card and stamped it with a sentiment from Teacher's Pet

I hope you'll take a minute to pop on over to the SugarPea Designs Blog for more inspiration and more details on how YOU can win just by playing along with the Creative Color Challenge!

Sweet Sunday Sketch 282 - One with Nature

Happy weekend, folks! Amazed by the background on this card by Melania Deasy, I just had to try my hand at an ink blended night sky. I'm also using the Sweet Sunday Sketch #282 flipped on its side.

From bottom to top, I blended the following inks: Ranger Distress Ink Mustard Seed - Peacock Feathers - MFT Tropical Teal. After blending, I spattered drops of water and then a bit of white watercolor paint using a small paint brush. I love the smooth, gradient look the blending provides, and I've found the best results using watercolor paper and round blending tool.

I hope you have an enjoyable weekend ahead and get a chance to...
 live in the sunshine
 swim in the sea
drink in the wild air.
