Welcome to the New Product Tour for the September release at My Favorite Things! All of the newbies are now available for purchase under the Brand New section at the MFT Boutique. You'll find complete details about this release at the MFT Blog along with a handy shopping list to keep track of your wishlist.
I'm sharing my love of Blueprints 7 with you tonight. I think this one is my favorite because it is chock-full of hip and trendy elements - arrows, tabs, chevrons, banners! You can use them all together or separately as fun embellishments on other projects (think scrap booking, folks).
First up is PI It's A Sign stamped in Sweet Tooth pigment ink, brightened up with the Blueprints 7 'hello' in a rainbow of colors. I die cut the 'hello' strip from Smooth White card stock and then colored the individual letters using Copic markers. Following one of the four suggested sketches made this sweet and a snap to put together once I'd decided on the design elements! Well, I guess I strayed with the spiral edge that I cut into the edge of the smaller Blueprints 7 square using my Die-namics Notebook Paper. ;-)
Inside the card is a sentiment from It's A Sign stamped partially in Sweet Tooth and Black Licorice inks. I customized the size of the speech bubble from Blueprints 7 to fit the sentiment by recutting the end of the speech bubble opposite the triangular tab on the bottom right edge (clear as mud?).
Next is my favorite card of the night! Somehow I got the bright idea to add a Cotton Candy card base after I'd assembled my central image layers, and I just LOVE it! Something fun and different for me. The polka dots are from this month's Free with $60 set, Large Scale Backgrounds, and I love how they look with my Blu Raspberry (Red) Delicious apple! The alphabet border from Head of the Class in Black Licorice on Kraft gives a little grounding to my non-traditional color scheme (wink).
The inside of the card reads like an old chalkboard, doesn't it?! Love the font of the sentiments from Stylish Friends in contrast to the Die-namics Numbers border.
And, finally, something a little outside my style zone using elements of Blueprints 7 unscripted! I think my favorite parts are the Steel Blue polka dotted arrow and the half circles on either side where the Hemp Cord is tied.
I stamped one of the girls from Stylish Friends on Kraft card stock in Steel Blue ink and angled her in from the top right. To spice things up a bit, I used a Sakura Gelly Roll pen to add sparkly doodles around the edges and filling in spaces in the letters.
More Large Scale Backgrounds polka dots in Steel Blue on the inside as well as another sentiment from Celebrate Life accented with Blu Raspberry corners.
Thank you for stopping by tonight, and I hope I've given you a few more reasons to hop over to My Favorite Things! If you haven't done so, stop over at the MFT Blog as well, for all of the hip-happenings surrounding the September release.
~Amy
