Countdown to Confetti - Day 1

*click HERE for my SugarPea Designs Sweet2Repeat post*

Hi, folks! It's time to start counting sleeps until the next release at Reverse Confetti. The February release will be available for purchase on February 8th, and it includes 5 Confetti Cuts, 4 stamp sets and a fresh set of Quick Cut Panels called Hoppin' Dots. You're gonna love it!

I watched the coolest tutorial by Julie Ebersole (thank you, Julie!) awhile back featuring a super cool outer space background,  and I just had to recreate it using the positive and negative spaces of the Confetti Cuts - Swirlies along with the sentiment from A Friend Like You. I love, love, love looking for ways to stretch my dies and stamps in new and different ways.

After creating the background with dye inks, water and white paint spatters, I die cut Swirlies from watercolor paper and vellum. I then watercolored the solid circle with light gray and yellow to resemble a full moon and then layered it with the vellum Swirlies. The embossed sentiment from A Friend Like You is popped up on foam adhesive for a bit of dimension with a scatter of wood veneer stars for embellishment.

If you'd like to win a $15 gift certificate to Reverse Confetti, leave a comment here and at the Confetti Crew designers for further your chance. Stop at the Reverse Confetti blog for full deets!

Sweet-2-Repeat Hop with SugarPea Designs

*click HERE for my Countdown to Confetti with Reverse Confetti post*

It's time for the Sweet2Repeat Blog Hop with SugarPea Designs featuring the products from the Winter Release. You may have some of or all of these products, so the Pod Crew on hand with a few more ideas for you. I've combined SugarCuts - Log Cabin Mountainscape and Timber to create a manly little valentine, just in time for the big day next weekend!

I first die cut the mountainscape and then cut it again using the largest Stitched Flag. I then trimmed off a bit of the mountains on either side of the tree line to really focus in on the 'wood' themed sentiment I planned to use. I stamped the sentiment and then ran the whole thing through my Big Shot under (and within the confines of) the Woodgrain Journal Card so that I would get the texture from the die but not allow it to cut off any edges. The woodgrain hearts are from SugarCuts - Special Delivery Accents & Layered Treat Label.
Would you like to WIN a $20 gift certificate to spend on some SugarPea Designs of your own?  Please visit with each of the Pod Crew listed below and leave a comment for your chance to win. Thanks for stopping by today, I hope I've given you a bit of valentine inspiration.

Reverse Confetti Feature: Have A Heart

Happy Wednesday! I am popping in to share a card I made for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Have A Heart featuring Reverse Confetti products! Who could resist a chance to stamp with the adorable penguins from S'more Love, right?

There's an adorable folk heart stamp and matching die in S'more Love that was perfect for this challenge. I really wanted that red heart to pop right out at you, so I simply stamped the two penguins, leaving them uncolored, and then triple cut and layered the Confetti Cuts - S'more Love heart to really make it pop.

I also added a coat of Ranger Glossy Accents to the heart and then gave the little penguin a step up using a bit of washi tape and sentiment strip.

I hope you get a chance to play along with the Have A Heart challenge - it'll warm you right up!

Mondays with SugarPea Designs

Happy Monday, all! Today is 'my day' to share a little something using my favorite SugarPea Designs stamps and dies, and I've got a fun full-on shaker card featuring stamps from Special Delivery and one of the SugarCuts - Stitched Flags.
I combined a bit of ink blending with a stamped background using those cute envelope stamps from Special Delivery. The sentiment fits perfectly on the Stitched Flag die cut and is heat embossed in white. I used a clear stamp storage envelope and my Fuse tool to create the shaker component.

Thanks for stopping by today! If you have a minute, I'd love for you to stop over at the SugarPea Designs blog for more designer inspiration and a special guest - you'll be over the moon excited to see what she's got for you today!

CAS(E) this Sketch - Cardinal Cool

Hey all! I don't know if you're a Facebook follower of mine, but I recently changed up my cover photo using a super cool picture taken by my super cool sister of a male cardinal hanging in our backyard last weekend. That photo along with the current CAS(E) this Sketch #156 is the inspiration for today's card!

I love, love, love combining the stamps from the Dawn Machell line at Reverse Confetti and did just that with S'more Love and The Tweet Life

I'd recently watched this video by Laura Bassen where she colored up a cute birdie in bold red, so I guess that coolest lady ever was also part of my inspiration. If you've never watched a Lauren Bassen video, you must do it soon - totally entertaining and informative!

You have a little bitty time left to play along with this week's CAS(E) sketch. Here's the original sketch and link to the blog. Thanks so much for stopping by today!

SugarPea Designs - just a note

Monday is my day to share a new SugarPea Designs project with you, and I'm excited to be featuring a really versatile set from SugarPea Designs called Special Delivery.  Although my card today is not of the valentine-variety, Special Delivery is going to be a go-to Valentine's Day set for me this year!

I started with a bright pink card base on which I stamped both of the envelope stamps in Special Delivery in matching pink ink for a subtle background.

I then created a watercolor background on the Stitched Flag layer with dye inks and that super fun ink smooshing technique. Once it was dry, I stamped a sentiment from Special Delivery and then used that super cool camouflage die cut technique using the coordinating SugarCuts - Special Delivery Accents. You can read more about camouflage die cuts  HERE and HERE.

I love trying out new (to me) techniques and hope I've inspired you to do the same. Speaking of inspiration, head on over to the SugarPea Designs blog for more design inspiration.
Thanks for stopping by today!

Reverse Confetti Special Release Blog Hop

Welcome to a Special Release Blog Hop with Reverse Confetti

Reverse Confetti is releasing two Confetti Cuts dies that coordinate perfectly with another product releasing today - Clear Tote Bags! Confetti Cuts - In the Bag is designed to create a perfectly sized insert for the clear totes, and the Confetti Cuts - Layered Bow provides the perfect embellishment.

The complete Blog Hop lineup can be found below.

I created a football themed birthday tote that my son took to a friend's birthday party last weekend. Rather than creating a traditional bow, I used portions of the Layered Bow and tag from In the Bag to embellish the football field.

Here is the front panel 'outside' the box for a clearer view. I simply trimmed the scalloped edge front of the In the Bag die cut and then added a front panel to it as my football field, which was a little more fun to look at than the packs of football cards tucked inside. The '8' tab and fishtail flags are dies from Layered Bow and In the Bag. Take a peek at the product graphics below.

I also added a back panel where I stamped the to/from sentiment from With Love and embellished it with Star Garland and banner using dies from Layered Bow. Always be on the lookout for ways to stretch your stamps and dies!

Here you can see the insert layer as it fits perfectly inside the clear tote. So many possibilities!

Now for the fun part - seeing what the rest of the Confetti Crew and Guest Designers have done with their Clear Tote Bags and Confetti Cuts - In the Bag & Layered Bow. Enjoy the hop and shopping!
