CAS(E) this Sketch - Cardinal Cool

Hey all! I don't know if you're a Facebook follower of mine, but I recently changed up my cover photo using a super cool picture taken by my super cool sister of a male cardinal hanging in our backyard last weekend. That photo along with the current CAS(E) this Sketch #156 is the inspiration for today's card!

I love, love, love combining the stamps from the Dawn Machell line at Reverse Confetti and did just that with S'more Love and The Tweet Life

I'd recently watched this video by Laura Bassen where she colored up a cute birdie in bold red, so I guess that coolest lady ever was also part of my inspiration. If you've never watched a Lauren Bassen video, you must do it soon - totally entertaining and informative!

You have a little bitty time left to play along with this week's CAS(E) sketch. Here's the original sketch and link to the blog. Thanks so much for stopping by today!

SugarPea Designs - just a note

Monday is my day to share a new SugarPea Designs project with you, and I'm excited to be featuring a really versatile set from SugarPea Designs called Special Delivery.  Although my card today is not of the valentine-variety, Special Delivery is going to be a go-to Valentine's Day set for me this year!

I started with a bright pink card base on which I stamped both of the envelope stamps in Special Delivery in matching pink ink for a subtle background.

I then created a watercolor background on the Stitched Flag layer with dye inks and that super fun ink smooshing technique. Once it was dry, I stamped a sentiment from Special Delivery and then used that super cool camouflage die cut technique using the coordinating SugarCuts - Special Delivery Accents. You can read more about camouflage die cuts  HERE and HERE.

I love trying out new (to me) techniques and hope I've inspired you to do the same. Speaking of inspiration, head on over to the SugarPea Designs blog for more design inspiration.
Thanks for stopping by today!

Reverse Confetti Special Release Blog Hop

Welcome to a Special Release Blog Hop with Reverse Confetti

Reverse Confetti is releasing two Confetti Cuts dies that coordinate perfectly with another product releasing today - Clear Tote Bags! Confetti Cuts - In the Bag is designed to create a perfectly sized insert for the clear totes, and the Confetti Cuts - Layered Bow provides the perfect embellishment.

The complete Blog Hop lineup can be found below.

I created a football themed birthday tote that my son took to a friend's birthday party last weekend. Rather than creating a traditional bow, I used portions of the Layered Bow and tag from In the Bag to embellish the football field.

Here is the front panel 'outside' the box for a clearer view. I simply trimmed the scalloped edge front of the In the Bag die cut and then added a front panel to it as my football field, which was a little more fun to look at than the packs of football cards tucked inside. The '8' tab and fishtail flags are dies from Layered Bow and In the Bag. Take a peek at the product graphics below.

I also added a back panel where I stamped the to/from sentiment from With Love and embellished it with Star Garland and banner using dies from Layered Bow. Always be on the lookout for ways to stretch your stamps and dies!

Here you can see the insert layer as it fits perfectly inside the clear tote. So many possibilities!

Now for the fun part - seeing what the rest of the Confetti Crew and Guest Designers have done with their Clear Tote Bags and Confetti Cuts - In the Bag & Layered Bow. Enjoy the hop and shopping!

Owl Advice

Happy Monday! How'd you all survive the weekend? Uffda, was it ever cold in my neck of the woods. I was more than happy to stay home most of the weekend and keep my fingers warm in my stamping room. I've got a card for you today using a few SugarPea Designs products released just last Friday (click HERE to see all the new stuff). I'm also linking up with the current Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge - Girly.

Introducing little miss owl.
Not sure if you caught my kitty-cat card last week using the SugarCuts - Stitched Flags. Well, I couldn't just leave it at cats and was inspired to see what other animals I could conjure up with this new set of SugarPea dies. I've listed the stamps and dies below and indicated which part they've played in this fun little concoction.

Supplies:
eye circles & sentiment -  Caffeine Addict
eyeballs -   Tons of Fun
sentiment -   Read Between the Lines

SugarPea Designs Sweet Peek Week - Day 4

We're in the home stretch, folks!
Just today and tomorrow left to sneak peek all of the new goodies from SugarPea Designs and you can start your shopping engines! Today's featured products will hold the key to your heart with coordinating stamps and dies ready to unlock the crafty possibilities.

I started my card by die cutting watercolor paper with the largest Stitched Flag. I then used a grey Zig Clean Color Marker to draw a striped background and then softened the lines with a bit of water. I set the watercolor stripes with my heat tool and stamped a sentiment from Key To My Heart on top. I like to use my MISTI tool when stamping on watercolor paper because it allows me to double stamp the image for a super solid result. Just be sure not to press too hard, especially on the second time or you might get a bit of a blurred look.

The SugarCuts - Stitched Flags set comes with three smaller flags as well of which I've used the smallest for the second half of my sentiment. The three hearts are from Sugar Cuts - Key To My Heart, Special Delivery Accents and Layered Treat Label.

Hey, don't forget to leave a comment here, at the other design team blogs and at the SugarPea Designs blog for YOUR chance at today's featured stamp set AND cash for your order at SugarPea Designs! Click HERE for full details.

THANK YOU for all of your sweet comments this week, and especially on yesterday's card featuring the Stitched Flags turned kitty-cats!

SugarPea Designs Sweet Peek Week - Day 3

Hi, and welcome to another day of sneaky peeking with SugarPea Designs. One of today's featured products is a SugarCuts die set that should definitely find a home in your studio. Stitched Flags will become a stamping staple in your crafty space! I love these dies so much that I just had to make them center stage rather than as an accent or layering piece.

I'd seen the idea to use fishtail banners upside down as kitty-cats on Pinterest and just had to replicate it using the SugarCuts Stitched Flags die set. I'm pretty tickled at how cute they turned out.

After die cutting the three smaller Stitched Flags, I turned them upside down and went to work figuring out how to make their killer cute faces. Digging through my SugarPea Designs stash, I came upon Tons of Fun which has two teeny-tiny dot stamps - score! The whiskers are simply slivers of cardstock I trimmed from a scrap of white cardstock using my guillotine cutter, and their noses are enamel dots. That's it - easy peasy, right?! The sentiment is from Espresso Yourself which you saw earlier this week. I love stretching my stamps and dies!

There are lots of opportunities to win prizes during Sweet Peek Week, so leave a comment here and at the other design team blogs as well as the SugarPea Designs Blog to increase your chances. Today's giveaway set is Easter Blessings which you can see in full at the SugarPea Designs Blog. Thanks for stopping over today and good luck!
