MFT Creative Challenge - Stripes!

Welcome to the July Creative Challenge with My Favorite Things. This month our creative focus is on STRIPES!  To me, stripes are synonymous with all things that fall under French, nautical and everything in between, so I've taken the two themes and combined them with the must-have Striped Background stamp.

First stop - Paris! The clipboard from Office Supplies Die-namics is so fun to dress up, but you have to start with a solid base, right? Steel Grey stripes set the stage nicely.

And then French-fried it up using Say Hello, Eiffel Tower and Lemon Drop dots from Gerbera Daisy.

Inside is simple greeting from Happy Graduation.

My second card is all about the nautical and a fun emboss resist technic. I stamped Striped Background in Versamark ink and heat embossed the stripes in clear embossing powder. Then, I layed down Red Hot, Orange Fizz and Lemon Drop dye inks onto my kraft mat, spritzed them with water and smooshed the embossed striped paper into the ink.

Another really simple technic I must share is using a Copic marker to customize MFT's Hemp Cord. Simply hold the marker tip on top of the cord while pulling it through/under the marker tip. You might need to touch ups bare spots here and there to fully coat the cord.

Another simply stamped sentiment (Go Overboard) inside with stars from Sailboat and Blueprints 17.

Ok, get out there and get your stripes on! If you're looking for even more inspiration, head on over to the MFT Blog for a complete list of designers playing along with this month's Creative Challenge - Stripes!
