I finally did it--I tore a page from an old, old, old book that I'd gotten from my Grandma Ione's stash, and I used it for my die cut bird...aaack, what have I done?! Seriously, I don't really think anyone will ever pick up that book and read it, but I do have a smidge of guilt inside of me, just the same. I suppose you're just dying to know what the book was, huh? It's Lorna Doone, and it's so old that I can't even find a publishing date?! Oh man, what have I done?
I also added some of the same rhinestones to the pattern of my background layer stamped with PTI's Guidelines Two. The rest of the details include another larger vintage button (PTI) and another die cut layer on which my cluster landed (Spellbinder's Labels 2).
I sure hope Grandma Ione is enjoying this card today, with her bird's eye view from heaven--thanks, Grandma!
Let's see what the rest of the SFYTT diva's have done with Jen's fab sketch, and hey, don't forget it's a new month, so that means a new guest designer. Head over to Jen's blog for the reveal--she's another fab-U-lous stamper gal! Miss Carole is taking the week off, but I'm sure she'll be back and on fire next week!

I feel your pain...lol Just don't tell any of your family memebers! :D
WOW!! I love your card! it's so sweetly beautiful!! Awesome job with the sketch!
beautiful card, Amy, and I know what you mean about cutting the book ...
so I wanted to share that if you have an all-in-one printer, you can scan the page of that book (something that comes in handy especially if you want to scan in definitions and may want to use that same dictionary again, LOL!) and print the piece on cardstock to cut later. hope this helps with the guilt issues!
Beautiful card! I love all the awesome details!
So pretty! I need to experiment more with my GL 2 set. Not to bring up the guilt again, but I have a book in French from my French grandmother whom I never met. I'm thinking I want to "use" a few pages too. I think she would approve once she sees the beautiful cards... :)
It was well worth it! Just know that your card is beautiful!!
You cut up LORNA DOONE?!?!
(Just kidding) Who cares when it's in the name of art, and girl, this is art! Gorgeous cluster, and such a wonderful mix of colors and elements. A beautiful card with a sophisticated, modern elegance. Beyond fab!
oh man!! i can't believe you did that! i have been looking for that book for my very very old book collection of lorna doone books that grandmothers used to have. i like to read them while i eat my lorna doone cookies. wow. i feel so. so. empty.
bwaaaahahaahahaaa!! i think i'd feel the same guilt gir-frind! look at it as you were "going green" and recycling it! great card!
worth the guilt, sister! worth the guilt. it's beautiful.
This is amazing! I just love that die-cut bird! I wouldn't feel too guilty about the page. It sure made a beautiful card! Great yummy colors!
this is so cute!! love the details!
Too funny about the book guilt. But the card is INCREDIBLE!!! I love that bird.
What a gorgeous card...and it wouldn't be the same without the little vintage book birdie! Love it!! ;)
You crack me up!! Love what you did with that priceless book....It made for a priceless card. LOL The card is simply fabulous!!! :)
This is really cute! Love what you did with the sketch and your use of the old book too ;)!
Beautiful card ! No one needs to feel that kind of guilt though, just visit your local used book store and use someone else's granmother's old books that they were "willing" to discard !
This is gorgeous with a capital G! The colors are beautiful and your *cluster* is fabulous!!!
I'm sorry Amy, you had me crackin' up about this card. At least I think your Grandma would say what a beautiful card you made using that page! Just think, if you hadn't told your secret on your blog no one but you would have guessed it was Lorna Doone...(too bad you didn't talk to SueB about it first) ;)
