SugarPea Designs Sweet Peek - Watercolor Brush Strokes and Sparkle & Shine

Today is the final day of Sweet Peek Week with SugarPea Designs, and that means all new 11 products will be available for purchase tonight at 6pm EST!  Do you have your list ready? Before you finalize it, I must introduce you to today's featured products -  Watercolor Brush Strokes and Sparkle & Shine! I had so much fun making this shaker card even though I didn't quite know where I was going with it. My initial intent was to repeatedly stamp and clear emboss one of the Watercolor Brush Strokes stamps to create a striped card front, which I did. I then used Zig Clean Color Markers to fill in the rainbow of color. At that point I had what I thought looked like a hot mess...so I decided to try out the new Scattered Stars Journal Card, cutting out the center of my hot mess and was so excited with the results, but still didn't know where I was going, lol. 

Then the idea of a shaker card popped into my head and the rest is history! I adhered my die cut star journal card to the base, created a shaker with the negative cut/card front and stamped the acetate barrier with a sentiment from Sparkle & Shine. I was a bit nervous about stamping and embossing the acetate layer, so I just took my time stamping the sentiment and embossing - slow and steady wins the race! 

Tip: definitely treat the acetate with an anti-static pouch before stamping. After the embossed image has cooled, you can buff off the dusty film from the pouch with a microfiber cloth. Also, take your time with the heat gun, making sure you don't direct/hold the heat on any one area for too long.

SFYTT 28 - Walk By Faith

This card is a perfect example of less is more, keep it simple! I struggled with this month's SFYTT sketch and then reminded myself to keep it simple, and that's when everything fell in place. Ain't that how life is sometimes? And when things get hectic in your world, remember these two things:

1. pray about everything

2. keep it simple

SugarPea Designs Sweet Peek - Prehistoric Pals

The September release at SugarPea Designs is only a day away, and today's featured set couldn't be any cuter! Prehistoric Pals has the cutest crew of dinosaurs and sentiments. My grandson definitely has us all 'raptor' around his cute little finger, so I just had to make a special dino onesie card for him using my most favorite oneside die from SugarCuts - Welcome Baby Accents stamped with the littlest Prehistoric Pal. 

I watercolored baby dino and his egg and then added Glossy Accents to the shell for extra fun & dimension. The sentiment is heat embossed with white embossing powder and layered on a bright green panel die cut with the SugarCuts - Zig Zag Stitched Rectangles.

SugarPea Designs Sweet Peek - Eek-a-Boo

Welcome to Day 2 of Sweet Peeks with SugarPea Designs! Today we're featuring Eek-A-Boo and SugarCuts - Scattered Stars Journal Card. The entire Fall Product Release will be available for purchase in the SugarPea Designs Store on Friday, September 11th at 6pm EST!

Eek-A-Boo is a must have for Halloween! Loving all the sentiments included in this set along with our adorable ghosty-poo and his boo banner.

I've stamped and colored him in with bits of water-coloring and embellished my ghosty scene with spider webs in light gray ink, a white embossed sentiment and dabs of enamel dots in traditional Halloween colors.
