MFT Release Countdown Day 2 - Game On!

Hello and welcome to Day 2 of Release Countdown Week with MFT. I am so excited about today's featured products - Level Up stamp set and Game Controller Die-namics, so let's power up and get our game ON!

Level up, dude - it's your birthday! The combination of Level Up and Game Controller is a match made in gamer heaven, and this new Limelight card stock is BFF status. I created a 'cord' by coloring MFT's Hemp Cord with a black Copic marker.

If you're wondering if I die cut each of those colored controller buttons separately, don't worry - I did not! Simply die cut the buttons in white (I used Sweet Tooth card stock) and then color them separately with your Copic markers before you pop them out. Mac 'n cheesy.

My second gamer card uses the larger (yes, you get small and large!) Die-namics Game Controller and another of the awesome sentiments from Level Up.

I used the same color combo on the buttons on my first card, no, not the colors 'as seen on TV', but my own personal button color choices here. It's all about the choices, people..all about the choices.  I even added glossy accents on the buttons to really make them pop.

MFT Release Countdown Day 3 - Rainbow Hearts

Rainbow colors, spectrum stamping...call it what you want, but it's not going anywhere it seems, so I've embraced the colors of the rainbow with two colorful cards for you today. My cards feature a new Pure Innocence image - Heart Banner, and a fun new stencil - Staggered Hearts. My first card is clean and simple. The main image and sentiment from Heart Banner are stamped in Black Licorice Hybrid ink with rainbow colors filling in those sweet hearts.I added shine to the hearts with crystal effects.

Inside I've stamped another of the Heart Banner sentiments and embellished it with a row of hearts colored to match the card front.

Here's a little trick you can use - cut a row of hearts from Love Centerpieces in the same cardstock color as your card base and then color them with Copic markers for a perfect match (to the card front).

My second card features a faux watercolor technic using the Staggered Hearts Stencil. My original plan was to stencil in colors using a clear acrylic block with dye ink smooshed on it and then spritzed with water. Well, all that did was leave the watered down ink on my stencil (and not on the open heart spaces in the stencil). So, I continued to smoosh my rainbow of ink colors onto the stencil and then took a piece of watercolor paper and pressed it on top of my wet stencil for the look you see above.

I then die cut each of the words from Love and Adore You Die-namics from my background, cut them again from gold card stock, along with a smattering of gold hearts using my Love Centerpieces Die-namics to finish the card front.

The inside is finished with a single sentiment from Smitten and another gold heart.

MFT Release Countdown Day 4 - Postal LOVE

It's Day 4 of MFT Release Countdown Week, and I've gone a little postal with the Love Centerpieces Die-namics. Complete product details, videos and links to all designers playing along with today's featured products can be found at the MFT Blog.

As soon as I looked at the Love Centerpieces, I immediately thought of USPS Love stamps and set out to recreate a jumbo LOVE stamp of my own using the largest Postage Stamp STAX as a base layer. The 'you' die is part of Love and Adore You Die-namics being featured later in the week.

I took advantage of the heart 'O' and used it to create a shaker window. Love Centerpieces comes complete with a double row of heart dies, perfectly sized for a shaker. MFT does all the thinking for us when they create their products.

Tip: be sure to check that your foam adhesive doesn't show through your shaker window before you put your layers together. You can see in the above photo that my (white) foam adhesive was positioned a little too closely to the edge of the shaker window and shows through from certain angles. Lesson learned!

MFT Release Countdown Day 5 - All My Love

Happy New Year and welcome to Day 5 of Release Countdown Week with My Favorite Things! Today's card features a new tag builder set - Blueprints Tag Builder 3 (just in time for Valentine's Day) and a lovely new stamp set from Lisa Johnson Designs - All My Love.

I love this nontraditional color combo for V-Day, especially against white. The Tag Builder Blueprints brings it together all neat and tidy.

 A bit more gold and a lovely sentiment from All My Love in Blu Raspberry ink.
