Oh, snap!

I fell in love with this CAS card by Jodi Collins and was inspired to 'finally' use my LLD Cute Cameras Die-namics along with the coordinating stamp set from Laina Lamb Design, Captured Memories to make this quick and cute card. Captured Memories is one of those stamp sets that inspires so darn many card and scrapping ideas that I have a hard time putting them into production before they float right out of my mojo brain!

This card literally came together in about 10 minutes, no lie. The patterned paper was actually a scrap with the center circle already cut out, so I layered a scrap of ivory cardstock behind the opening, adhered my cute camera and popped the pink resin flower on top to add a little fun to the card.

I knew I wanted to use a bit of washi tape and this pink striped was just the ticket with my pink resin flower. The sentiment placement was inspired by Jodi's card. Quick and cute! I hope my card will inspire one of you out there today.

This little ditty will be going postal to my sister, the best sister a girl could ask for. She's continually documenting our family history through her lens. Thanks for the memories, Lis! ♥

Wednesday Stamp Club {Feeling Lucky}

Loving this week's MFT Wednesday Stamp Club sketch even though circles have a tendency to psych me out. Maybe I'm getting braver, or maybe, just maybe, I'm feeling lucky. LOL.  Either way, I'm happy with the end result.

Once again, I've mixed and matched MFT Die-namics and stamps to create my card. This time around I've used the next to smallest of the Hearts STAX along with the Leaf Filled Flourish to create a 'shamrock', piecing pinched off stems from the flourish to place in front and behind the shamrock. The 100% center, from Off the Chart, covers the pinched stem and adds a little graphic fun to the card.

A trio of black rhinestones frame a portion of the central layer where an embellishment is called for in the sketch, and the sentiment below (love.it.) is from the brand spankin' new set, Inspired by the Wild Wild West.

Speaking of luck, here's wishing a little luck to my son's varsity wrestling team as they compete for a team state title this weekend! Go Panthers! As for me, I'll be back next week. Until then, thanks for stopping by today.

2012 Christmas Card Bundle

For the life of me, I can't find or remember where I've seen this idea to bundle up your holiday photo cards using jump rings. Anyway, I decided to try it for myself because I just couldn't bear to part with all of the beautiful photo cards we received this year. On top of that, I had all the crafty supplies that I needed to make it happen (wink): jump rings, a few dies, patterned paper, corrugated cardboard (thanks to my Bota Box), patterned paper and an extra photo of the kids from our 2012 Christmas card.

Here's a look at the finished product as it is now displayed on a side table in the living room. Even though Christmas has come and gone, I like having my card bundle out and about to look at. Plus, let's face it, the holidays are usually so hectic that I scarcely remember looking at some of the cards and photo cards we received!

 Here's a look at the cover I designed using this week's MFT Wednesday Stamp Club Sketch #112. I decided to add jumbo eyelets to dress up the cover and give it that test-of-time sturdiness factor.

The cover also features a few MFT goodies: High Rise Numbers, Let It Snowflake, and Fishtail Flags Layers STAX.

I just love the way this project turned out and will definitely be making this an annual event! Actually, I think it would be fun to have my 'cover' and jump rings all ready to go for 2013 and add the photo cards as they are delivered to our mailbox. I hope my good intentions pan out!

Wisconsin Foodie Inspired Birthday

It's my mom's birthday today: Happy Birthday, Mom! So, since she's a huge fan of the tv show, Wisconsin Foodie, I just had to create her birthday card with the show logo as my inspiration. Ü

 

After using my word processor and printer to create the birthday sentiment, I trimmed the white cardstock down to a strip and dry embossed a line above and below the sentiment to add a little foodie class to it. I also used the reigning MFT Wednesday Stamp Club sketch (#111) combined with a couple of my favorite Die-namics: Fishtail Flags Layers STAX and Labels and Tabs.

I accented the fishtail flag with a couple of cardstock buttons die cut from the brand spankin' new Die-namics Button Border. Just to let you know, I also used Button Border on the inside of my card, but unfortunately it didn't make the cut, so I'm not sharing it with you today...just one of those days! Luckily, my mom will most likely love this card inside-out, just like she loves me! ♥

Mojo Monday 280: I Love You 100%

 It's been far too long since I've participated in the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! I've combined this week's sketch with lots of MFT stamps and scraps of some of my favorite patterned paper that just happened to fall together nicely!

The main sentiment from For The Record was stamped on the smallest Fishtail Flags Layers STAX before layering it on a scrap of thin cork board die cut with Die-namics Framed Greetings. The sentiment piece was then popped up on a piece of ledger paper that was die cut on one end using the spiral notebook edge of the new Die-namics LLD Notebook Paper and stamped diagonally with the chevron print from Right This Way and the XOXO from Coupon Book - Love. I couldn't forget the embellishment called for on the Mojo Monday sketch, so I added the 100% from Off The Chart.

 Here's a peek at both sides of the inside of the card.

The left side is fitted with a Horizontal Gift Card Pocket which houses one ticket for a massage for my dear husband. The ticket was hand stamped and die cut using Coupon Book - Love and the companion Die-namics Ticket Book.

I love how the right hand side turned out using an arrow stamp from Right This Way and a simple sentiment from Lovey Dovey Sentiments. I finally got on the bandwagon and purchased a few rolls of washi tape. I think this black striped roll has the perfect masculine feel to it, just right for my manly-man!

MFT Wednesday Stamp Club {Adore You}

 Hi there, and thanks for stopping over today! I have a sweet little card for you today featuring this week's MFT WSC sketch #110 and the adorable PI - Being Cute Is What I Do! After seeing her used on Inge's card for the premier installation of MFT Academy, I just had to ink her up and try my hand adding the illusion of pleats on her cute top.

This is such a fun sketch, and I had such fun mixing and matching papers from one of my all time hoarded favorite MME collections, Follow Your Heart. I love the mix of neutrals and prints in this collection. 

Along with a bit of sewing and paper distressing, I added a Die-namics Leaf Filled Flourish and a little resin flower to her top for dimension and plain old fun! A sentiment was stamped on the smallest of the Die-namics Fishtail Flags Layers which was then layered on the open fishtail flag from LLD Accent It - Labels and Tabs.

The Perfect Penguin Pillow Box

Do you love penguins as much as I do?  How about a perfectly poised penguin popping by with your favorite treat in his pouch?!  After seeing a few similar penguin treat boxes on 'the web', I knew I just had to recreate this super sweet and simple pillow box penguin using MFT goodies I received as their Guest Designer last month.

Step one: die cut a pillow box from black card stock using Die-namics LJD Square Pillow Box.

Step two: die cut two orange hearts using the oblong heart from Die-namics LJD Rustic Hearts and one white heart using the next-to-smallest Die-namics Heart STAX.

Step three: hand cut a small orange triangle (nose) and adhere to your white heart as shown. Color two black dots for eyes just above the 'nose'. I think the imperfect nose and eyes add to the whimsy of this project. As my BSF, Carole, would say: wabi-sabi, baby!

Step four: die cut fishtail flag from LLD Die-namics Accent It Labels and Tabs, stamp it with 'xoxo' from Just My Type and adhere it to the side flap of your pillow box before assembling the box (believe me, you want to adhere the 'xoxo' flag BEFORE assembling your pillow box...wink).

Step five: after your pillow box is assembled, adhere the two orange hearts to the underside of the pillow box using foam adhesive (Jody's Foam Boosters are perfect for this job...nice and sticky!).  As you can see from my penguin's feet, he's either had a tough day on the job, or his poor little feet were crafted from a-uhm, shoddy piece of orange cardstock?! Wabi-sabi, right?!

That's it...sweet and simple, right?! I was able to pop two Hershey Miniatures inside Mr. Penguin and poised him on his feet, all ready to treat my favorite Valentine peeps!
