Beautiful Birthday

Happy Friday, all!

My beautiful niece had a birthday this week, so I'm sharing the card I made for her using new goodies from Reverse Confetti. I'm also linking up with Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes!

I started by embossing the gold portions of the You're So sentiment on a Cloud White card base and then color washed a light pink over it. I then added a swirl of gold thread topped with the coordinating You're So Confetti Cuts 'beatufiul' and a trio of wood veneer stars. I love the contrast of the wood and gold.

SSS: Let's Go Wild!

I haven't played along with a Simon Says Stamp Challenge in awhile, so I checked in on this week's Wednesday Challenge and decided to get a little wild and crazy. Well, not really, but I did use some wild birds (sorta) in some wild colors, also known as crazy rainbow colors *wink*.

Card number one is a that wild and crazy toucan from the newly released Reverse Confetti set - Toucan of Friendship

After coloring mr. toucan with Copics, I added an embossed ring around him using Detailed Circles Confetti Cuts and a heat embossed sentiment and a few enamel dots.

My second card features this adorable flock of birdies from Your Next Stamp called Tweet News.

Since I had my crazy rainbow Copic colors out, I decided to color these cuties as well and then used the coordinating die to cut them out - easy peasy, and it gives such a nice bit of dimension to the card without adding too much bulk. I again added my favorite YNS Gumdrops - they're the best enamel dots, and YNS has such a great selection.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Happy Friday!

God Bless America!

Happy 4th of July weekend! I thought I'd use a few of my favorite products from Reverse Confetti and whip up a sweet little card to wish you all the best this holiday weekend. I'm also going to link up with the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes.

I colored and cut that sweet birdie from The Tweet Life and perched him on a Stitched Flag Trio Confetti Cuts flag that I stamped and embossed a sentiment from Because Of The Brave. Then I pulled out my new Seeing Stars Confetti Cuts to add a bit of embellishment.

Thanks for stopping by today and have a great weekend!

Reverse Confetti - My Heart Trusts

(click HERE for my SPD Sweet Peek Week post)

I'm popping in today with a card I made using products from the latest Reverse Confetti release - Sand Dollar Confetti Cuts & My Heart Trusts stamp set.

After color washing my background I stamped the sentiment on top of it with distress ink. I then went over the sentiment with a brush of water to give it an 'ocean washed' look. After layering the Sand Dollar Confetti Cuts on top, I added 'shimmer' with a handful of scattered rain stones to go along with this week's Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge (add some shimmer).

Thanks for stopping by today!

Challenge Me {hi}

I've got a clean and simple card featuring a technique-y feather sitting front and center. Today's card hits on a few current challenges going on that you definitely should consider participating in:

I've used stamps and dies from Paper Smooches for their current Anything Goes Challenge and combined it with my favorite technique (ink smooshing) for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.
I usually use the ink smooshing technique to create one of a kind backgrounds but used it to create an interesting focal point instead. To create the feather, I smooshed  hot pink dye ink onto a piece of watercolor paper, then clear embossed a polka dot background on top and finished with another layer of smooshed hot pink ink to get the two shades of pink you see.

Make a little time for yourself this week to play along with these challenges, you'll be glad you did!

Simon Says Stamp Challenge - For the Love of Plants

Welcome! I have a shabby-chic card for your today that I'll be linking up with the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog - For the Love of Plants challenge.

I used a few different techniques to create the base layer, including ink smooshing, Damask stencil + texture paste and a little sprinkle of gold embossing powder here and there. The rolled flowers are the small, medium and large royal roses dies from My Favorite Things, and the fine print sentiment is from the Sending and Wishing stamp set from Simon Says Stamp, one of my favorites!

Hope you're having a nice weekend and look forward to sharing a few more challenges with you this week!

Welcome to Ink About Me!

I have a fun card to share with you today that hits three challenges: Paper Smooches SPARKS Picture Perfect Challenge, Simon Wednesday Challenge (create your own background) and the current Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge (#264). That's what you call getting three birds stoned!

I created my background using this technique along with a sprinkle of gold embossing powder which I heat set.

The gold embossed sentiment and stamped stars are from Paper Smooches Word Salad and Birthday Buddies.
