Color Throwdown #629

Happy Wednesday!

It's time for a new set of colors for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge.
We've got red, pink, black and white, just in time for handmade Valentines.

I found my way back to my favorite Numbers Plate  from The Cat's Pajamas, my favorite hearts from Home & Hearth, and a teeny sentiment from Sending & Wishing. And then, just for old time's sake, I added a snit of black gingham ribbon for just the right amount of fun.

How about a little inspiration from our team...

CTD 575

Welcome to this week's Color Throwdown - gold, green, kraft and white. Notice something missing here? Yep, forgot kraft (smacking forehead)...I'll try and sneak it in somewhere this week! I again used a sentiment die from Simon Says Stamp and the hearts from Essentials by Ellen. The hexagons are from SugarPea Designs, and I love the extra interest they add in.

Here's a look at my card which uses a nice mix of die cuts and a sentiment stamped in brown ink from Simon Says Stamp's Wishing You stamp set. Color Throwdown #534

Welcome to this week's Color Throwdown Challenge! I'm hosting this week and hope you'll have a bit of crafty time to play along.

I've used adorable stamps from Reverse Confetti and a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp. Having stepped down from my design teams at SugarPea Designs and Reverse Confetti has really allowed me more freedom to mix and match companies.

STAMPtember® + SPD Cuddly Cacti

We’re so pleased to be sharing in the excitement of STAMPtember® with our friends at Simon Says Stamp! Today we’re thrilled to share with you a stamp set created exclusively for this event and only available while supplies last, called Cuddly Cacti! There is also a coordinating die set and you can purchase them as a bundle or separately!

I've got Halloween on the brain and immediately thought this cute little cacti was the perfect pumpkin shape. You see it, right?! I stamped three of the pumpkin cacti and matching pots, colored them with Zig markers and trimmed them out. I then created 'boo' using black fun foam and the letter dies from the SugarCut - Letter Message Board

The entire little Halloween scene was then popped up onto a SugarCut - Large Stripe CoverPlate. Clean and simple with a fun pop of color against the white layers.

Look at all those adorable cacti! Be sure to check out the SugarPea Designs blog to see what the rest of the design team has come up with using this adorable, limited edition stamp set.  Enjoy!

STAMPtember: Simon Says Stamp + Reverse Confetti

I'm absolutely tickled to be sharing with you a stamp set designed by Reverse Confetti exclusively for STAMPtember® with Simon Says Stamp! The entire month of September is slated for amazing new products at Simon Says Stamp, so you'll absolutely want to check in each and every day!

Celebrate Your Day is such a fun set filled with sentiments for all occasions. When I saw the striped background stamp, I immediately thought of yellow and black construction machinery and signs and just so happened to have had one of my grandson's construction toys at my disposal for a photo prop.  Thanks, Nolie!

Once I'd decided on my color scheme, this card came together in minutes. I used my MISTI to get nice solid coverage, first with the yellow stripes and again with the sentiments in black. A quick piece of washi and a few enamel dots to embellish and I was finished.
You'll definitely want to snatch up Celebrate Your Day as it's only available while supplies last! Thanks so much for stopping by today. Be sure to check in at the Simon Says Stamp blog for more ideas and inspiration for this set.

STAMPtember Event - Koalaty Time!

I'm absolutely thrilled to be sharing with you a stamp set designed by SugarPea Designs exclusively for STAMPtember® with Simon Says Stamp! The entire month of September is slated for amazing new products at Simon Says Stamp, so you'll absolutely want to check in each and every day!
This set is only available through Simon Says Stamp while supplies last, so snatch it up soon as you can. I mean who can resist cute koalas, right? And look at all of the images and sweet sentiments.

Here's a sweet and simple card featuring Koalaty Time and a bit of loose watercoloring. I stamped and embossed the image on a watercolor panel and then colored it in with Zig markers.

I then simply stamped one of the sentiments below the opening and popped it up over the watercolored image.

Are you ready for more inspiration and sneak peeks at Koalaty Time? Please head on over to the Simon Says Stamp blog for links to other designers playing along today. Thanks so much for stopping by today!

STAMPtember Feature - Reverse Confetti

Hello, crafty friends! I'm so happy that you've stopped by today because I've got a special treat for you (and it's not even Halloween yet). I'm beyond thrilled to be sharing an adorable new Reverse Confetti stamp set exclusive for the Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember celebration called Forest Friends

I stamped the sweet owl and mushroom image and colored it with Zig markers. I'm just tickled that I can watercolor on Reverse Confetti's new Cloud White Cardstock.

After stamping one of the Forest Friends sentiments above my scene, I framed it with the cross-stitched All Framed Up Confetti Cuts.
Here's a peek at the entire Forest Friends stamp set. Adorable, right?! Be sure to stop by the Simon Says Blog for STAMPtember fun all month long!

Color Throwdown - One With Nature

It's Wednesday, and that means a new Color Throwdown Challenge starts today! I'm using a stamp set from Simon Says Stamp that I love, love, love - One With Nature.

I started by stamping the tree skeleton in black and then stamped the solid tree center in the trio of challenge colors in an offset fashion. The sentiment is also from the same set, stamped and embossed in white on a scrap of black cardstock. Clean and simple like enjoying nature should be.

Ok, now it's your turn to give the challenge colors a whirl. They sure are yummy aren't they? If you're looking for more inspiration, simply click on the links below to see what the CTD team has done.

Something to Smile About!

I sure do have something to SMILE about and share with you today - I am joining the Color Throwdown Team! I was beyond thrilled (and honored) to be asked to join this great group of sweet and talented friends and am hoping you'll enjoy my weekly CTD posts as much as me.

This week's color combo is just delicious and had me thinking of summer, especially since we've had a few nice, sunny days in Wisconsin this week! I pulled out Happy and Smiles from Simon Says Stamp that I'd never laid ink on and put together a happy little scene inside my favorite SugarPea Designs SugarCuts - Chatterbox Journal Card.

Those sunglasses crack me up, and I love the fine line sentiment to go with mr. sun. I just happened to have one of my SugarCuts - Whatever The Weather clouds just lying around on my work table and decided it would make a fun embellishment along with a little washi and enamel dots.

The sun is out, there's a new Color Throwdown Challenge in town, so come on out and join us for this week's challenge. Remember to link up your creation at the Color Throwdown blog and use keyword: CTD391 or #ctd391 and #colorthrowdown on social media, so we can see what you've been up to.

Exciting News + Double Challenge

I'm so glad you stopped by today because I have a bit of exciting news to share along with a fun card I created to participate in two challenges - Simon Says Monday Challenge: Trio of Colors & Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 284

I've seen a few of these full layer shaker cards lately and decided it would be perfect for the Sweet Sunday Sketch. The sentiment is from Simon's Big Scripty Greetings set and my most favorite anchor stamp from SugarPea Designs Anchored

I clear embossed both before watercoloring my trio of colors - Tim Holtz Distress Inks (Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmalade). After the background dried, I wonky stitched an acetate layer on top, filled in my shaker with Pretty Pink Posh sequins and then finished sewing across the top opening. I sure do likey and know just the person who might likey it as well.
How about some exciting news before I go? I've been a guest designer for SugarPea Designs this month and have been asked to stay on as a full time designer, which means you'll be seeing my SPD designs on a regular basis starting with Sweet Sneaks in another week or so!!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
~Amy
