Color Throwdown 661

Welcome to this week's Color Throwdown Challenge! I am so excited about this week's color combination because it's all my favorite neutrals - black, cream, gray and kraft. I've used Reverse Confetti stamps and dies as well as my favorite numbers die from The Cat's Pajamas.

Color Throwdown #629

Happy Wednesday!

It's time for a new set of colors for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge.
We've got red, pink, black and white, just in time for handmade Valentines.

I found my way back to my favorite Numbers Plate from The Cat's Pajamas, my favorite hearts from Home & Hearth, and a teeny sentiment from Sending & Wishing. And then, just for old time's sake, I added a snit of black gingham ribbon for just the right amount of fun.

Late to the Party...

Welcome to my weekly Color Throwdown Challenge post. This is typically the only time I post on my blog and I sure do appreciate you handful of faithful followers! As you well know, I tend to stick to a puh-lain jane white background, but I am here to tell you that I have buh-roken out of the big white house with a [insert audible gasp] lightly stenciled background! Yes, you've read that correctly, my dear friends, a stenciled background. And I lurve it!

Now...I'm sorry to say that the heart stencil is no longer available from RC...but maybe you have it or something similar? I know, I know...that just goes to show how stinking late to the stenciling party I am, right?! Either way, I'm gonna be home stenciling my little heart out if you need me, using THIS fancy brush from The Cat's Pajamas.

365 Days Sober

Hi, friends! I'm celebrating a very personal goal along with this week's fun and funky color challenge palette - red, green, kraft and chartreuse. Yep, one year ago, inspired by some kick ass women, I decided to go sober for 100 days. I knew long before I reached 100 days that this was my new normal and I'm so damn happy to say that I've met another milestone this week - 365 days sober!

CTD 615 - Spooky Halloween!

Welcome to this week's spooky Halloween themed Color Throwdown Challenge. I'm absolutely in love with the inspiration piece...like so much that I'm thinking I should auction off some of my 'stuff' and buy myself a GlowForge. They sure do come with a hefty price tag though. Uffda. I digress. My card is a fun mix of stamped images from Reverse Confetti and my favorite die cut numbers from The Cat's Pajamas. I hand trimmed the white tag, and the kraft layer is the negative die cut of my favorite skinny trees from Your Next Stamp.

CTD 608: Welcome Fall!

I've got this week's color combo for Color Throwdown 608 and it's a gorgeous one at that!

I used fall images from Year of the Rat from The Cat's Pajamas and colored them in with Zig markers in orange, pink, peach and yellow. I also added touches of colored pencil shading here and there for depth.

CTD 607 - Punny Farm

I have a fun, interactive card for you this week featuring stamps and dies from two of my favorite companies, both near and dear to my heart: SugarPea Designs & The Cat's Pajamas

Each of the farm animals is watercolored in this week's Color Throwdown Challenge colors - yellow, purple and blue. Have you heard the poem, The Purple Cow? I remember reading it in our ancient set of Childcraft: The How & Why Library waaay back in my younger years and there was an accompanying picture of a purple cow. Growing up on a dairy farm in WI, I thought it was the funniest thing I'd ever seen. Anywho, that's where the inspiration for my card started. Oh my gosh, I just searched and found it! Anyone else remember this?

The first view is all buttoned up with sentiments from SugarPea's Barn To Be Wild stamped on interactive Peek-A-Boo Frames from TCP. The cloud and sun die cuts are from SugarPea, but I'm sorry to say they may not be available any longer.

This second view shows the windows opened revealing the adorable farm crew from SugarPea's Barn To Be Wild.

Finally, a peek at all of the elements before I put everything together. I love these punny sentiments and know just the special recipient who shares my pun-loving sense of humor. 🖤

Color Throwdown #605 - Gnome Love

Imagine my excitement when my recent order from The Cat's Pajamas arrived (yesterday) freaky fast! That's the service you can always expect from Alma, owner of TCP Stamps. Yep, she's the real deal.

I just had to put those new stamps and dies to use for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge and managed to wrangle about 4 different products into my typical clean and simple design.

Besides my gnome-y crush, I just love those crisp, clean numbers and the stitched detail of the frame.

CTD 589 - Family Forever

Cute bunnies are from The Cat's Pajamas - Family Forever...love this set! I used this week's Color Throwdown colors (red, black, grey, white) to watercolor the image using Zig markers. The sentiment is from a retired PaperTrey Ink set. I tucked in a bit of gingham patterned paper to pull together the colors and give the card a bit of homespun feel.

Here's another card I made this week using another Family Forever image in simple shades of grey and yellow.

Color throwdown 426

Welcome to Color Throwdown #426! I've combined this week's color palette with my new-favorite stamp set from The Cat's Pajamas - This Could Be Vodka. If you ever need a giggle-lift, go ahead and google this set. I combined this adorable image with a Reverse Confetti Valentine's Day sentiment from Crushin'.

My image is stamped and clear embossed on Reverse Confetti's Cloud White Cardstock and then watercolored with Zig markers. I added slight shadow with the same grey Zig marker as the coffee mug and then stamped the sentiment directly below. Clean and simple and ready to go postal for Valentine's Day.
