Moms, Dads and Grads!

It's the 8th of the month and that means time for another Reverse Confetti blog hop! This is a non-release month, so we're going with a themed hop instead, and this one is all about the upcoming holiday season of Moms, Dads and Grads!

My project is a gift bag and tag for a new grad. I recently had a student teacher working with me and was inspired to treat her with her favorite candy and a little something we all love - cash!

Here's a peek at the side of the Clear Tote, stuffed with Heath candy bars. The bottom of the tote is lined with my favorite striped paper from the Fun Times 6x6 pad that I trimmed with the coordinating In The Bag Confetti Cuts.

I stamped two tags using the Pierced Round Top Layers Confetti Cuts. The larger tag is stamped with the whale image from Seaside and then turned gift card/cash holder using the slot die from Gift Card Holder Tag.

I couldn't get enough stripes in this project and used two of the So Stripey stamps on the Navy tag and again on the 'whale done' tag in addition to the stripes on my patterned paper. I, of course, had to add my favorite nautical icon - the anchor from Seaside Confetti Cuts.

Are you ready for more inspiration from the Confetti Crew and 'Fetti Friends? Me, too!

Freshly Made Sketches #331

I'm popping in with a quick post featuring a quick and easy CAS card using this week's Freshly Made Sketches #331 and Reverse Confetti's brand new stamp set, My Sunshine.

I usually stamp my images first and then die cut them, but this time I opted to go in reverse. There are definite 'markings' on each of the My Sunshine pieces that make it easy to line up the stamps and die cuts. For instance, you can see where one of the rays has a slight indentation, so you can simply line that up with the indentation on the coordinating stamp and stamp away.

SugarPea + Autsim Awareness Day Blog Hop

Hello! I am thrilled to be a part of a fantastic group of designers as we do our part in spreading Autism Awareness to our crafting community.  SugarPea Designs is a sponsor of this hop which is hosted by Veronica Zalis.

I created my rainbow background using the SugarCut - Diagonal Striped CoverPlate and watercoloring the negative cuts of the die in a rainbow of Zig markers. I then cut an round opening through which I stamped a sentiment from Sweet Sentiments - You

I am so happy you stopped by my blog today. Please be sure to visit the SugarPea Designs Blog for a look at some of the fantastic cards for today's hop!

Happy 4th Birthday SugarPea Designs!

Welcome to the biggest birthday bash in town!  SugarPea Designs is celebrating its 4th birthday with a super sized blog hop and awesome giveaways, so read all the way to the bottom of my post for all the details.

I have two birthday cards for you today that use the same birthday sentiment from the newly released Topiary Garden.  I'm smitten with this stamp set and find ways to combine it with other favorite SugarPea products whenever possible!

I've combine Topiary Garden with my favorite-est Diagonal Striped Cover Plate. And, you know me, clean and simple, so I simply stamped the twiggy wreath from Funky Wreath - All Seasons and finished it with my birthday sentiment and  a few black leaves.

Next up is the FarmScape scene. I trimmed the card base and FarmScape layer with the stitched rectangle die from Card Front Element Builder to give everything a crisp, uniform look and again added my simply stamped sentiment.

SugarPea Designs will be giving away 4 - $40 gift certificates to the SugarPea Designs shop. Winners will be randomly chosen from all the comments left along each stop of the hop. Comments will close on April 7th 11:59 PM EST with winners announced on April 8th.

Wait...there's more!

SugarPea Designs is offering a coupon code: BDAY04 for customers to receive 15% off their entire purchase AND a FREE 4x8 stamp set with any purchase (valid until April 7th 11:59 EST).

Color Throwdown - He Is Risen

Hi, and welcome to this week's Color Throwdown Challenge. This week's colors are a beautiful pastel combination of blush, pink and apricot which you can see below. I've used a new cover plate from Reverse Confetti, Stitched Rays Cover Panel, along with a sentiment from Easter Blessings

After embossing the sentiment in white, I watercolored over it in the challenge colors.

The Color Throwdown crew is on deck with more inspiration for you. I hope you'll find time to play along with this week's challenge!
