MFT Creative Challenge

Welcome to this month's Creative Challenge with My Favorite Things. This month's theme is Hop Into Action which is a great excuse to get started on Easter cards, gifts and home decor.

The MFT Design Team is on hand with lots of ideas and inspiration, so be sure to stop by the MFT Blog for direct links to each designer's blog.

I have two cards to share with you featuring Birdie Brown's adorable Somebunny.

I stamped the 'sitting' bunny repeatedly to create a fun background on a Primitive White card base.

And then added a Stitched Speech Bubble Edge (this month's Free with $60) and stamped it with a sentiment from Somebunny. Lastly, I added shiny black dots by using die cuts from the Die-namics Game Controller topped with Glossy Accents.

My second card features one of the adorable chicks from Somebunny stamped on the equally adorable Onesie Die-namics.

The new Summer Splash card stock works perfectly with my soft yellow chick. The sentiment on this one is from Candy Jar Companions, and those teeny, tiny Black Licorice snaps were die cut from the Die-namics Game Controller.

I hope you've found a little inspiration here today that will help you get started on your handmade Easter projects. You'll find direct shopping links below for supplies used on today's cards and more inspiration at the MFT Blog.

Thanks for stopping by!

Creative Construction with Blueprints - Lucky Me!

Hi, and welcome to the February Creative Construction with Blueprints Challenge. The MFT design team's task is two-fold: 1) follow one of the Die-namics Blueprints sketches exactly and 2) do a little free-styling by mixing and matching elements from any of the specified Blueprints sets. This month's sets include Blueprints 2, 16, 17 and 19.

I really like the contrast of the gold layers on my first card - a smooth fishtail from Blueprints 19 contrasted with the embossed woodgrain of the Blueprints 17 strip.

The flower die from Blueprints 19 makes for the perfect shamrock.

I double cut the 'shamrock' for more dimension.
Freestyle with Blueprints 16, 17 & 19.

My second card features an exact sketch card from Blueprints 19 minus the button.
You can find all of the sketches HERE.

I stayed with the St. Patrick's Day theme on this one as well.
The sentiment is from Document It - Bingo.

The shamrock stem was made from the negative cut of the Blueprints 16 slit die.
I just ran it between my fingernails to give it a bit of a 'bend'.

Inspired to pull out your Blueprints and do some mixing and matching, or whip up a quick card using one of the Blueprints sketches? I sure hope so! Complete details and more inspiration can be found at the MFT Blog along with direct links to all designers playing along.

MFT February Release Rewind - Coffee & Donuts!

Welcome to day 2 of  Release Rewind featuring newly released products from My Favorite Things. I have two cards to share with you today featuring Laina Lamb Design Donut Die-namics and coordinating stamp set, Donuts and Sprinkles.

Two of my favorites, one of which I imbibe daily, the other eaten less frequently - COFFEE & DONUTS!
Of course we had to have Donuts to pair with our Coffee, right?!

This is the sort of breakfast Goldilocks could get behind, am I right?

I just had to finish the inside with another of the sweet sentiments from Donuts and Sprinkles.

Don't go away yet, I've got an even bigger Donut for you.
You know what they say...go big, or go home!

This one is so big, it needs its own napkin.
Thank you kindly, Inside & Outside Diagonal Stitched Squares!

I can't wait to send this off to my donut-loving niece for Valentine's Day.

I hope you've found some coffee & donuts inspiration.
Even more fun and inspiration can be found at the MFT Blog right now.

Enjoy your day!
