Happy Mother's Day {WSC}

Happy weekend, all! I'm popping in with a quick post to share a Mother's Day card I made this morning using this week's MFT Wednesday Stamp Club sketch #123. You can find complete details as well as the original sketch at the MFT blog.

My card uses Front Porch - Spring from the Inspired By line in combination with a sentiment from Sweet Roses. I think the two sets make a lovely couple! I stamped the blossoming branch in Sour Apple ink on coordinating Sour Apple card stock panel, layered on a bright pink Fishtail Flag stamped with my sentiment in Black Licorice and tied it up with a double length of hemp twine.
The black and white diagonal stripe on the right hand side is actually half of the chevron-arrow stamp from Mod Borders (the one on the right of the graphic).

Here is a peek at the inside, stamped with another sentiment from Sweet Roses on Sour Apple card stock, finished with another Fishtail Flag.

Thanks for stopping by and I wish you all a Happy Mother's Day!

MFT May New Product Tour

Now that you've been teased and tempted all week, it's time to further highlight some of our favorite products with the May New Product Tour. You can see a list of everyone participating at the MFT Blog. I just want to say 'thanks' for all of the sweet comments you've left me during Teaser Week!

I'm sharing a little love of the Brand Spankin' New Document It - Bingo! I have a little lovin' for bingo boards, so this set is right up my alley.  And, since I've also fallen head over tail feathers with the rooster from Life's Direction, I most certainly had to combine the two, and came up with this fun card which I'll be giving to my mom this weekend for Mother's Day.  I love the combination of the whole 'lucky' theme matched with the layered Jelly Bean Green felt flower from Blueprints 3, topped with a gold embossed key lock and layered on the Die-namics Leaf-Filled Flourish.

Up close you can see the clear embossed chicken wire background using Distressed Backgrounds giving the Black Licorice layer a subtle touch of texture and shine. I've also embossed the Life's Direction rooster in gold smack dab in the middle of that cooler-than-thou bingo card. The original sentiment from Document It -Bingo reads 'LUCKY ME', but I just couldn't help myself...I stamped the 'C' from the word 'LUCKY' to create a fun-pun: CLUCKY ME!

Inside is my favorite new background look made by randomly stamping the chicken wire stamp from Distressed Backgrounds in Factory Green ink on a layer of Factory Green card stock. I stamped off the ink at least once and then kept stamping it here and there on the card stock until the ink was gone. The sentiment from Bingo is stamped on a Kraft strip die cut with the strip from Blueprints 3. Love that piercing detail!

Next up is another card made with Document It - Bingo in combination with the Die-namics Sunflower and brand spankin' new Feathers and Arrows Die-namics on a Steel Blue card base. The birthday sentiment from Bingo is stamped on Electric Red card stock and die cut with Fishtail Flags. Then entire collage is sitting pretty atop the new Die-namics Dotted Scallop Border.

A closer look at the feathers shows a bit of stamping on each using Distressed Backgrounds and Mod Borders in Steel Blue and Factory Green inks.

The card inside uses the same background stamping as the first card using Distressed Backgrounds with a sentiment from Right On Target stamped in Hot Fudge ink. The Electric Red half circle was die cut using an element from Blueprints 3 and stamped with the top of the Bingo card.

And there you have it, a little fun with Document It - Bingo from me tonight. Have fun shopping and hopping along the tour!

MFT May Teasers: Right on Target

Welcome to the final day of MFT May Teasers..we made it!  I sure hope you've enjoyed all of the Teasers both here and from the rest of Team MFT.  Just think, in a few short hours you'll be shopping up a storm in the Brand Spankin' New section of the the MFT Boutique!  Stop by the MFT Blog for another chance to win some MFT cash as well as a complete reveal of today's stamps and dies.

I'm showing off Laina Lamb Design Document It - Right on Target and the coordinating Die-namics Feathers & Arrows. What a combo, folks!

It just happens that Right on Target goes along quite nicely with my favorite rooster from Life's Direction (sorry, I can't stop using him!), and the new Mini Chicken Wire Stencil, which I've used to create a cool background on the Kraft card base. To achieve the look you see above, I simply sponged Kraft ink over the stencil and wah-la - cool background!

I used the trendy chalkboard technic to create my central image, mixing and matching sentiments from Right on Target with the feather from the same set, my beloved rooster from Life's Direction and the chicken wire stamp from Distressed Backgrounds. After stamping and embossing the images, I used a white colored pencil to draw a border and some doodles and then finished the layer off with edge distressing and a bit of wonky sewing.

Here is a closer look at the bottom half with a Fishtail Layer peeking out from beneath it.

The inside of my card features a row of roosters stamped in Kraft ink and another chalkboard sentiment layer, this time using a sentiment from Life's Direction and the Heirloom Label Die-namics. I couldn't leave without noticing those two devilish red feathers, could I?!  After cutting them out with the Feathers & Arrows Die-namics in Electric Red cardstock, I stamped each with background patterns from Distressed Backgrounds (polka dots) and the Mod Borders (chevron) in our new Red Hot ink. Fun feathers, huh?! Finally, I spritzed color here and there with my color spritzer tool and a dark brown marker to further that country-bumpkin look. ;-)

I'll see YOU all later for the MFT New Release Party over at SCS and then back here for the New Product Tour, so don't stand me up, ya hear?!
