MFT April Release Rewind

Just when you thought the parade was over, we're coming at you again with the April Release Rewind, where we get to show off more of the newly released products from My Favorite Things! You can find out all about it at the MFT blog, so be sure to stop over there for complete details.

I'm here to share a few more projects I've made with products from the April release for Release Rewind Part One! I've been on a Sour Apple + Black Licorice + Steel Gray + Kraft color combo kick, so all of today's projects are somewhat color coordinated...just for you!

First up is a card using Serenity Now along with one of the Blueprints 2 sketches. I love these premixed sketches, especially for those days where you need a little pick-me-up boost!

As you can see, my sweet yogi is meditating atop of a trendy chevron rug, designed with Mod Borders, and I've also used Mod Borders to accent the base layer below the gray layers of the sketch, as seen above.

Here's the inside with a bit of layering using a Fishtail Flags Layers in Sour Apple, topped with a 3x4 Notebook Layer stamped with (of course) the chevron stamp from Mod Borders and a sentiment from Serenity Now. Another Mod Border is stamped on the fishtail layer in Sour Apple ink for a little extra-extra.

Next up is a birthday card that I designed for my brother who has been riding his bike to work for years, weather permitting. The new Die-namics Bicycle die fit the bill per-fect-ly! The Sour Apple background layer is stamped with the chevron image from Mod Borders for a tone on tone look that really lets the bicycle die cut stand out. A simple sentiment from Birthday Sentiments is stamped on a tab from Accent It - Labels and Tabs.

Can I just say that I love the inside of this card?! It just reinforces HOW MUCH I love the mix-and-match-ability of MFT stamps and Die-namics! Here we have the Vanity License Plate Die-namics stamped with a sentiment from Birthday Sentiments and stars from Hello My Name Is. The Sour Apple layer is again stamped with the chevron stamp (aka my new bestie) from Mod Borders.

Up last is a fun little project that I've designed as a gift for George's 4 year old kindergarten teacher. It's a card that doubles as a mini-album. I bet there's even room for a gift card in there somewhere!

The card front features all kinds of MFT goodness, including the new Die-namics Red Delicious (as seen here in Sour Apple), Bottom Line Alphabet and Numbers & Symbols and Story Titles. The 'memories' story title is finished off with a stitched strip from Blueprints 2 and hemp cord.

Here's a side view of the front cover which shows the vellum layers beneath the Black Licorice Jumbo Fishtail Banner layer which will house photo and journaling areas. Two other cover elements of this card-mini album are the Jumbo Fishtail Banner, and the Boy Meets Girl Border which represents all of those sweet kiddos in George's 4K class. Ü

A peek at the vellum album pages all ready to fill with photos and journaling.

Last is the interior of the card using a Jumbo Fishtail Banner layer stamped with a sentiment from World' Best Doctor and topped of with a smaller banner in Sour Apple. Love the simplicity along with paw-lenty of room for George to add a personal message for his teacher.

There you have it, my MFT April Release Rewind! I hope you've enjoyed my projects and will now head over to the MFT blog to see what the other design team members have in their Release Rewind for you. I'm positive it will be spectacular!

Below are the MFT products used in today's projects:

Pretty Poppies {so sorry}

Lisa Johnson's set, Pretty Poppies, was the perfect set for a sympathy card I needed for a dear family friend who passed away after 89 years of a wonderful life.

I kept stamping to a minimum with two simple poppies in Electric Red ink on Natural card stock, stemmed in Factory Green ink with a base of background script in stamped off Factory Green. The sentiment, from Just My Type, was stamped in Kraft. I first inked up just the 'so' of the word sorry, stamped it and then inked the entire word 'sorry' and stamped it below to create the 'so sorry' sentiment.

Another sentiment from Just My Type is again stamped in Kraft ink on top of a single bloom silhouette stamped in watermark ink.

Be sure to stop back tomorrow bright and early for Release Rewind Part 1 from My Favorite Things. I've got some fun projects to share with you!

Happy Birthday {awesome} Dad!

Today marks the birthday of my two oldest childrens' dad, Tom. Fortunately, we are somewhat of an anomaly in the world of divorce and maintain a good relationship, and since Hank asked me to pick up a gift for his dad, I thought it only appropriate to stamp a card for Hank to give him as well, right?! Ü

This month's release was nothing less than stellar in my book, so I grabbed a couple of my favorite sets from the release and got to work!  The front of the card features Hello My Name Is, Mod Borders and the Die-namics Bottom Line Alphabet dies spelling out 'DAD'. I stamped 'awesome' from Hello My Name Is behind the die cut letters for that fun subliminal messaging effect. The stars are from Stacking Stars and Accent It - Rock and Roll.

Here's the inside of the card stamped with a sentiment combination from Birthday Sentiments and row of stars from Rock On.

I'll be back on Monday for MFT's Release Rewind, so be sure to stay tuned here and at the MFT blog. Have a great weekend!
~Amy
