MFT Teasers Day 4: Lolli-Pez Holders

Happy Saturday and welcome to Day 5 of My Favorite Things Teasers week! My project today is probably my favorite and the one I had most fun making. Why is that you ask? Because it involves fun candy dispensers - Pez Candy Dispensers, to be exact!

Every time I look at this motley crew I crack up! Are they not the cutest?! You probably recognize MFT's Die-namics Lollipop Treat Die, but this time it's companion set is all about Valentine's Day and it's aptly named Lollipop Additions.

Here's the amazing Spiderman (my George's favorite...geesh, he allowed me borrowing rights scarcely long enough for the photo shoot). I love how the parallel lines stamp can be used to criss-cross just like Spidey's amazing web, and the sentiment...could it BE more perfect for your Spidey-lovin' child?!

Speaking of lovin', I've always been in.love. with Kermit, or as Miss Piggy would say, Kermie. ♥ The combination of the heart and row of arrows stamp was the perfect masculine love combination. It ain't easy bein' green, ya know, but this cute little lollipop holder makes life a lot easier.

Finally, a bovine balentine (since I'm a speech therapist, I'm allowed a /b/ for /v/ substitution, right?!)...udderly the cutest one in the herd! I embossed the rows of hearts stamps to give miss bessie a classy look and I think she likes it 'cause she's putting out more milk than usual these days!

I sure hope you enjoyed my fun Lolli-Pez parade today and come back Monday for more Teasers from me. Stop at the MFT Blog for today's list of Teasers and then read over the bullets below for all the happenings at My Favorite Things right now.

MFT Teasers Day 3

Are you having as much fun as I am with the My Favorite Things Teasers this week?! I sure am, and we're just getting warmed up, so grab your hat, slap it down over your brow and let's get started! Today's Teasers sets are called Lovey-Dovey Sentiments, Inspired By Time and You Make My Day, and of course, there are some pretty swell Die-namics that just happen to coordinate beautifully with these sets. Ü

My card features You Make My Day, and unlike anything Clint Eastwood in nature, it is full of sweet sentiments for those cards you like surprising a friend or loved one with...just because.

A little closer look at the Die-namics STAX Hearts layered on top of the new Die-namics Leaf Filled Flourish...so dainty, so perfect! I actually snipped the flourish in two pieces in order to place it precisely where I wanted it to peek in and around the heart and sentiment strip. An embossed stripe above and below the sentiment adds a bit of a finished look to the sentiment strip.

I've been taking cue from Team MFT and finishing off the inside of my cards during my reign as MFT Guest Designer, and here's a peek at the inside of this one. So nice to know that this card is all ready for it's recipient.

Here's a recap of all things going on at MFT right now. Remember to leave a little love along the Teasers Trail for a chance to win some MFT cash-o-la! You'll be glad you did when it comes time for shopping next Tuesday night (10pm EST).

MFT Teasers Day 2: {u+me=us}

Welcome to Day 2 of MFT Teasers! I'm back again today, hanging with the cool girls at MFT with two (more) must-have sets from Laina Lamb Designs: Document It - Off the Chart and Journal It - For the Record. I have completely fallen in.love. with Laina Lamb Design stamp sets and coordinating Die-namics, and today's sets are no exception!

I've once again employed the latest stamping craze, Chalkboard Art, for my card today. I'd seen a fun inspiration piece on either Google images or Pinterest of a green chalkboard and couldn't get the idea out of my head, so what better way to implement my idea inspiration than with Laina's new sets!

I couldn't help but do a little word math, adding up 'you' and 'me' to equal 'us'...it was a no-brainer, folks!

The school theme just kept flowing from there...cork board, notebook paper, doodling, staples, boy/girl border reminiscent of little boys and girls rooms. And, of course, I had to use the new Accent It: Labels & Tabs to 'accent' the LOVE sentiment and point you toward my chalkboard image. Love how these MFT products are gellin' like a felon!

Just like the morning announcements, I feel the need to spill the details about the homecoming dance upcoming release: Ü

MFT WSC #105: l♥ve u!

Just in case you missed my cool news, I'm guest designing with My Favorite Things for their upcoming release (January 8), and I couldn't think of a better way to start off the new year! It's my honor and priviledge to work alongside this uber talented group of ladies called Team MFT, and I hope you have as much fun looking at my MFT projects over the next week as I've had making them!

Here's a look at Lisa Johnson's Homespun Hearts set and coordinating Rustic Hearts Die-namics. This set is the essence of 'homespun' and will tug at your heart strings, guaranteed!

My card combines homespun with a few edgy undertones for an eclectic look and feel. I love the contrast in the straight lines of the patterned paper, corrugated cardboard and Die-namics Fishtail Flags Layers, softened by that sweet heart doily that you see tucked behind the main image panel (Die-namics Heart Doily...you're gonna LOVE it).

Here's a little detail of the main image panel featuring the following (new) Die-namics: Rustic Hearts, Keys & Locks and Ticket Book.  I've combined the new Die-namics with the High Rise Lowercase Alpha, highlighting the die cut heart with a sentiment stamped from Homespun Hearts.

Here's a look at the MFT WSC sketch followed by my interpretation of the base layer using a new addition to the Die-namics STAX family: Hearts!

I used hearts in lieu of the circles shown in the sketch, cutting apart one of the larger STAX Hearts to meet with the straight edge of the patterned paper border.

One last photo to share of the inside of my card and you're on your way!

The inside features the Heart Doily and Rustic Hearts Die-namics along with two sweet sentiments from Homespun Hearts.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to come on back tomorrow for Teasers Day 2 starting at midnight EST!

MFT Teasers Day 1

Happy New Year everyone, and thanks for stopping by to see what I've got to share with you on this most special day: My Favorite Things (MFT) Teasers Day 1! I cannot think of a better way to start off 2013 than guest designing with MFT, and I've got lots to share with you over the next week leading up to the new release next Tuesday night, so be sure to check back often! You can always find links to all of the latest happenings at the MFT Blog.

Teasers Day 1 is all about Lisa Johnson Designs newest set called Homespun Hearts. It's chock full of heartfelt sentiments and homespun goodness, and on top of all that is a coordinating stamp set, Hearts & Stitches, and Die-namics Rustic Hearts.

My card takes a bit of a left turn from the homespun look using bright, bold colors, but it just goes to show the versatility of this set. Love.it.!

Here's a closer look at the stamp detail showing the fun patterns you can add to the coordinating Die-namics Rustic Hearts. The sentiment is stamped on an label using another new Die-namics set called Accent It: Labels & Tabs (a must have, folks).

Finally, a look at the inside which shows mini versions of each of the larger hearts on the card front. Love me some matchy-matchy! Ü

Remember to stop over at the MFT  Blog for complete Teasers Day 1 details, and then stop back later today for my WSC card featuring more Homespun Hearts!

YNS Fun Friday {Snow Family}

Happy Friday! I'm so mixed up on my days this week with family coming and going for the holidays, but the calendar says it's Friday so I'm going with it! Speaking of Friday & families, I've crafted a sweet snowman family using the YNS Bookmark/Tag Layered Die Set for this week's Fun Friday project. This month's Fun Friday theme is about reflecting on the last three years of YNS, so I'm highlighting the YNS dies that were added to the line in 2011.

Each snowman was made using the following framework:
  • die cut two of each size bookmark in white
  • die cut one of each size bookmark in patterned paper for the hat (only die cut the top portion of the bookmark)
  • trim each patterned paper cut as you'd like the hat to look (slanted on my snow momma, shorter on snow papa, and just right medium for my snow boy...ok, so much for sticking with the traditional 'snowman', but I couldn't resist)
  • hand cut a tiny orange nose for each and punch two black circles using your 1/8" circle punch or something similar (I used a retired SU! punch that has 2-1/8" circles on it...I know, clear as mud)
  • score each snowman about 2.5" from the scalloped end (all of them) and then trim each end of the bookmark 1" from the scored line
  • overlap the flaps and adhere together to form the base
  • tie the two scalloped tops together with linen thread, twine or ribbon and embellish as you like (I've used elements from the YNS Whatnots Season One dies)
Here is a side view of my snow-fam that will hopefully give you the visual you need to get through my directions. Ü

I'm thinking these are pretty cute 'as is', but you could pop a Hershey Nugget inside and have yourself a sweet treat for someone you love! As for me, I'm leaving this family unit right where they're at on my rustic entry table as fun winter decoration.

No, stop over at the YNS Blog for more Fun Friday Reflection, and thanks for stopping here today!

MFT WSC #104: Be Mine Forever

Welcome! I'm here with this week's MFT WSC sketch featuring a fun mix of old and new stamps from My Favorite Things. This time around I've used the adorable PI, Honey Bee, and paired her up with this month's Triple Scoop Set, Lovey Dovey Sentiments. Yep, I've gone and done the chalkboard art look (again), and I think it serves our sweet bee very well. Ü

Below is a detail shot of the chalkboard background where I've highlighted a free-hand drawn 'bee line' with piercing. I've also added white and yellow doodles here and there, and then emphasized just how much I love this girl with an additional sentiment stamped onto an arrow from the Die-namics Lead the Way die set.

I hope you get a chance to play along with this week's sketch, and I look forward to sharing more MFT with you next week in the form of Teasers, as I play along with Team MFT during my spot as Guest Designer! As always, you can check out this week's sketch as well as links to all of the participating designers at the MFT Blog

Thanks for stopping over today!
