MFT Release Countdown Day 1 - Hammer Time

We made it - Day 1 of Release Countdown with My Favorite Things! I have two cards to share with you today which feature Let's Tool Around, that go-to stamp set for all your masculine cards. Think Tim Taylor here, folks!

I love a good ol' play on words and couldn't resist using the hammer from Let's Tool Around to create a 'hammer time' t-shirt. C'mon, sing it with me, folks...can't touch this!

The word 'TIME' is spelled out over the hammer using the Negative Dot Alphabet. I used the die-cut letter circles as a stencil, filling in the open spaces with embossing paste tinted with Blu Raspberry Ink Refill.

Because I'm impatient cow, I sped up the drying time of the embossed letters using my heat tool and was excited to see the embossing paste puff up a bit as it dried. If you haven't tried this sort of technic, just DO IT.  I was scared to try it and am so stinking thrilled that I finally did because it is so fun and looks so cool!

Inside is a sentiment from Let's Tool Around on a Horizontal Stitched Strip that I stamped with Woodgrain Background to match the card front. I added in the Blu Raspberry color with a wide fishtail flag from Blueprints 15.

My second card showcases the screwdriver and screws border from Let's Tool Around.

I love the addition of Woodgrain Background with this set! The screws border is Steel Blue Hybrid Ink on Steel Grey cardstock for a subtle look. After much debate, I settled on screwdrivers in Sweet Tooth ink for a little pop against the Blu Raspberry. 

Inside the card is a Square STAX stamped with the sorry sentiment from Let's Tool Around in Hybrid Inks - Blu Raspberry, Steel Blue and Orange Fizz. Love the solid coverage of these new inks!
