DIY Christmas Decor & More

I've been wanting to make one of those cool paper Christmas trees (that I've been ogling on Pinterest) using the Pinking Edge Square STAX and it fit perfectly with this month's MFT Creative Challenge. I've also got a pair of cards featuring my favorite knock-off antlers made with the Spooky Scene tree.

To make the tree, I followed THIS tutorial utilizing all five sizes of the Die-namics Pinking Edge Squares STAX

I die cut pages of a discarded dictionary which worked really well due to the thin quality of the paper and was able to cut through 7-8 layer thickness with my Pinking Edge Square STAX. I was able to cut all 5 sizes of the Pinking Edge Square STAX at once which saved me a ton of time. Just repeat the process until you feel you have enough squares for the tree size you're looking for.

The tree topper is Die-namics Star STAX cut twice (for a 2 sided star) and scored to give the look of a three dimensional star. Simply score from each point to the notch directly below it (make sense?) and then fold each crease to get the 'bend'.

Thanks for stopping by today! Please stop by the MFT Blog for direct links to all designers playing along with this month's Creative Challenge filled with more ideas to help you get decked out this Christmas!
