MFT Release Countdown Day 4 - World to Me

Welcome to Day 4 of Release Countdown Week, we're crossing over the hump on our way to the release of fabby new products from My Favorite Things! Definitely check in at the MFT Blog daily for complete countdown highlights.

I'm featuring a fun technic-y card today using MFT Dye Inks and the Centerpieces You Mean the World to Me Die-namics. I've had so much fun with this centerpiece, both last month and again today.

I'd seen a video by Laura Bassen featuring this watercolor technic and am pleased as punch that I gave it a whirl (thanks, Laura). Simply smoosh your acrylic block into desired stamp pad (color), spritz with water and press down over your embossed image.

I have to tell you that I originally clear embossed the globe and then went in and re-embossed (is that a word?) it in gold because the clear/white didn't pop enough against the bold, bright colors of those MFT Dye Inks.  Check out the bottom of my post for a complete list of colors used.

Inside is kind of a watercolor matched look to the card front, and here's how I did it. I smooshed my ink pads onto an acrylic block and then used the ink to water color in the negative spaces of the sentiment portion of the Centerpieces World Die-namics with a tiny paint brush.

After removing the 'stencil', the sentiment wasn't quite bold enough with the water coloring alone, so I repositioned the stencil over top and traced each letter using a fine tip black marker. I hope that made sense!

I hope you'll step out of your comfort zone and try a new technic, I'm sure glad I did! See you back here tomorrow for another fun day of Release Countdown with MFT!
~Amy

Release Countdown products will be available for sale Tuesday, June 10th at 10pm EST.
