Always

Here it is...my card creation for Jen's Saturday Sketch For You To Try (SFYTT). If you're a follower of my SFYTT cards, you'll note that two weeks ago I made a Halloween card; last week a snowman Christmas card; and threatened to do something in a Valentine's Day theme for this week! That's pretty much what I did, although I sent this card off to someone in the mail already.

I've been visiting a blog favorite of mine Pine Is Here by Heather Nichols, and I really like the homespun sweetness of her new set Rustic Branches available through PaperTrey Ink. Seeing all of the wreaths using Heather's set made me want to create my own sort of wreath, so I punched out 4 different colored hearts, arranged them in a circle on vellum with bits of adhesive (just enough to make them stick but not too much) and then fired up my sewing machine and went around and around, about 3 or 4 times. I actually hadn't decided on a sentiment to use prior to making the heart wreath, but when I found always on my mind, forever in my heart, it was a match made in heaven! The additional heart/button/linen thread highlights the sentiment and pulls it all together in a symbolic sorta way.

Here are links to the other SFYTT chicas and their eye candy...check it out! And hey, come play along...make your card according to the sketch, upload to your blog or SCS and use the keyword SFYTT. Have a great weekend!

  11. Love this so much, girlie! I'm a wreath-y kinda gal, you know -- always making them when I can out of my stamps. This, however, is perfection! (And I love Heather N's blog, too. You and me are just bird of a feather! :) )
