Color Throwdown #495

Ahoy! It's once again time for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge. Where does the time go?! I've used this week's color with Reverse Confetti's Seaside set for a full-on summer card. I've also used Reverse Confetti's dye inks today in shades of Navy and Wine, perfect for this week's color palette.

navy | burgundy | gold

I'm really loving all of the texture in the Stitched Square Confetti Cuts and used the medium square to create a frame for my seaside scene. I then added some waves using both sides of the Wonky Double Edge Scallop Border Confetti Cuts before placing my stamped whale and octopus images. Finally, a gold embossed sentiment on the smallest square from the Stitched Square Confetti Cuts set.

Color Throwdown 494

So glad you're here today because I have this week's Color Throwdown Challenge for you, and guess who's hosting it? You guessed it - little old me! I sure hope you'll find a little stampy time over the holiday weekend to get inky with this week's palette of red, white and good o'l blue.

I pulled a few Reverse Confetti products together for this one, including the (new) arrow stamp from My Tribe, a sentiment from my go-to for cute little sentiments - Fancy Word Coordinates, and Confetti Cuts - Seeing Stars and Tall Stripe Panel.

Clean and simple...with a few fun details. Thanks for taking a closer look.

I don't think anyone can get enough of the beautiful ParisScape SugarCuts die, me included! I combined it with my new favorite background layers, Postage Stamp CoverPlate. I used the larger die on the Spots and Stripes layer and then topped it with another layer of white cardstock using the smaller die. Knowing I was going to use this card as for a wedding shower, I added two die cut umbrellas using the SugarCut - Whatever The Weather dies and a sentiment from the coordinating Whatever The Weather stamp set.

Have fun hopping today and good luck with the prize draw! I hope you'll find lots of inspiration along the way. I know I can't wait to see what the ladies have in store.

Stock Your Stash - Stellar Birthday + CTD

Happy Wednesday! I've got this week's Color Throwdown Challenge and Reverse Confetti's new challenge, Stock Your Stash, to share with you today, so I'm so glad you stopped by.

The Reverse Confetti challenge runs for the entire month, and this month's theme is BIRTHDAY, so here's a really great reason to stock your card stash with birthday cards!

How do you like this week's challenge colors, dreamy aren't they? I love this color combo...

Speaking of love, how about Moon Men? I can't even.

Besides Moon Men and the coordinating Confetti Cuts dies, I've also used the schmancy new Stitched Squares Confetti Cuts to make a frame and filled it with puffy clouds using the tried and true Wonky Double Edge Scallop Border die. And my favorite part...those sweet stars in shades of Mint, Lime Green and Iced Aqua (fully inked and stamped off once).

How about more challenge inspiration? Click away down below to see more from the Confetti Crew and a little further down for the entire cast of Color Throwdown. Thanks for stopping!

Color Throwdown + SPD Mix It Up

Welcome to another double challenge Wednesday! It's my turn to share my take on the SugarPea Designs Mix It Up Challenge for May as well as this week's Color Throwdown Challenge, so I've once again combined the two challenges using the MIU sketch and CTD colors - pale yellow, red and gray.

I started with an open white card base and then topped it with the smaller SugarCut - Postage Panel, also in white. I really, really love monochromatic layers as it give the focal elements such a nice pop. Speaking of pop, I die cut Fabulous from deep red cardstock and then mellowed it with a gray strip stamped with a coordinating Simply Fabulous sentiment. Finally, to pull in the yellow from the challenge colors, I added a snippet of yellow striped washi tape and then finished my card with enamel dots in gray.

Stop at the SugarPea Designs blog for more inspiration from my teammate, Kelly. Remember to play along for your chance to win a $50 SugarPea gift certificate.

Reverse Confetti - Now Available!

The May release at Reverse Confetti is NOW AVAILABLE! I have had so much fun with this release and cannot wait to see all of your fun designs once you get the new products in your crafty hands.

I wanted to something a little different with the Hey Sugar popsicle and saw the cutest 'candy corn' popsicles on Pinterest (where else!) that were perfect for my design idea. After coloring and die cutting the popsicle, I added a few layers beneath it using the Polka Panel and Stitched Squares Confetti Cuts dies as well as layers of patterned paper from the Fright Night and Paper Bliss 6x6 pads. I also stamped a sentiment on patterned paper and tucked it under my candy corn popsicle.  Finally, I added a couple shrink plastic bats I had in my stash leftover from last Halloween which were die cut using the Halloween Bits Confetti Cuts dies.

Please hop along with us for more inspiration using the May release products, and have FUN shopping!
