December Sketch For You To Try

...la la, la la la la!

It's almost here, folks, are you ready?! I'm getting there and trying to enjoy the season rather than allowing it to gobble me up. How about you? One thing that helps to ease the stress of the holidays is to go get lost in your happy place, or in my case, my crafty space. Give yourself time to play along with this month's Sketch For You To Try with me and the gang at Reverse Confetti. Here's a look at the sketch:

I decided to shake things up a bit and wonky-up the background layers of the sketch, just because it's fun to do things a little differently...or in my case, see how far I can push things!  I pulled black and white patterned paper from the Every Little Bit 6x6 pad which you can see below. I then layered up the Fa La La Circle Confetti Cuts in black and white and popped a bit of color with green Holly Confetti Cuts leaves. My color inspiration is totally kicking in from all of the black and green lovlies in the Hearth & Hand with Magnolia line at Target.

Reverse Confetti December Hop

Welcome to the Reverse Confetti December Blog Hop! The Confetti Crew and 'Fetti Friend, Laurel, have lots of fun inspiration for you featuring products from the November release (remember, Reverse Confetti now offers bi-monthly releases, but we hop on the 8th of each month).

The November release had so many fun Confetti Cuts, one of which I used as my background layer -  Scallop Stripe Panel. I then added the rolling pin image from Kitchen Love and a sentiment, too. The rolling pin is paper pieced with a scrap of woodgrain cardstock with Zig colored handles to match the Aqua background layer.

Wanting to pull in a bit more kitschy, I added a sliver of black check patterned paper from the Fright Night 6x6 Pad. You may have noticed the extra 'piercings' on the Pierced Round Top Layers tag...I resized the tag to better fit size and scale and didn't notice the extras until now. I think it adds to that handmade quality, how about you?

Time to hop around for more inspiration from the team - enjoy!

Color Throwdown #472

Welcome to Color Throwdown Challenge #472 I'm using a mix of Reverse Confetti dies and stamps along with this week's colors - red, black and gray.  I just happened to have a gray card base lying on my stamp table (along with a million other things - 'tis the season, right?) and decided to use it instead of my usual white base.

It's topped with a larger Pierced Round Top Layers Confetti Cuts, a sentiment from Christmas Blessings, and a make-shift minimalist 'Rudolph' using the trees die from Branch Out Confetti Cuts.

We'd love to have you play along with this week's colors. Remember to use keyword CTD472 in public galleries and #ctd472 and #colorthrowdown on social media.

Color Throwdown 471

Welcome to Color Throwdown Challenge #471 I'm using a mix of Reverse Confetti dies and stamps which are linked below. I love the mix of gold and silver as well as the textures in the details of the die cuts. I stamped the sentiment in black Versafine ink and then sprinkled gold embossing powder over it, shaking off some of the gold to let the black ink show through.

We'd love to have you play along with this week's colors - silver, gold , black and white. Remember to use keyword CTD471 in public galleries and #ctd471 and #colorthrowdown on social media.

Color Throwdown 470

Welcome to Color Throwdown Challenge #470! This week's inspiration is all about the old gobbler, and a yummy looking one at that. We'd love to have you play along with this week's colors - red, orange, yellow and brown. Remember to use keyword CTD470 in public galleries and #ctd470 and #colorthrowdown on social media.

My card uses a combination of Reverse Confetti's Christmas Bear and Paw Prints sets. I just love the way the Dawn Machell sets work together.

After coloring the tree lights with an orange Zig marker, I went over each bulb with a yellow colored pencil to give them a bit more 'glow'. I also used the spiky grass die from Nuts About You as icicles dangling from above.

Are you ready for more inspiration?
