SugarPea Designs Sweet Sneaks - Day 4

Hi and welcome to Sweet Sneaks Day 4 with SugarPea Designs. I'm having so much fun with these new stamps and dies and really appreciate all of your sweet comments! Today's Sweet Sneak is called Un-Frogettable, and it totally reminds me of snips and snails and puppy dog tails, that what little boys are made of', adorable!

I opted to use one of the smaller images from Un-Frogettable as my focal image;  as I said yesterday, I'm a sucker for anything nautical and fell in love with this sweet little sailboat. I used the Zig Zag Stitched Circles to create an opening and then again to stamp and watercolor my trio of boats. I simply scribbled color from various Zig Clean Color Markers onto my die cut circle after I'd embossed the boats in white and then smooshed the colors together using an aqua brush.

I made my shaker pouch a bit differently using my fuse tool so that the sequins and beads would shake all around the sailboat layer rather than all settling at the bottom. Please ask questions if my directions aren't clear:
  • Create a circle pouch using the largest Zig Zag Stitched Circles die and fuse the edges except for a portion where you'll add sequins and beads.
  • Before adding sequins and beads, fuse a small circle in the center (this part is hidden by the sailboat layer) to create a donut-like pouch. Note: make your center fused circle small enough so that the sequins and beads still have room to move around the donut freely.
  • Fill your shaker, gently pushing the sequins and beads around the entire circle (I used the end of a small watercolor brush) and then fuse the pouch closed at the fill opening.
  • Adhere the donut shaker pouch to the inside of the card and layer the sailboat layer on top. I also layered another die cut circle on the back side of the shaker pouch for a more finished look.
One last note about the sentiment strip - in stretching my stamps, I again used the gift ribbon/bow stamp from Tons of Fun to create the diagonal striped background and then stamped the sentiment on top.

I want to try the shaker with the fuse tool. it sounds like it would be so much easier than trying to do all the adhesive, etc.
Beautiful card. thanks for the idea.
