YNS Challenge Day!

If you stopped by earlier this week (or month), you know I've been guesting with Your Next Stamp this month and am having a great time with new and old products alike. Today marks the start of a new color and sketch challenge at the YNS Blog, and I've got two cards to share with you using both challenges. First up is my sketch challenge card.

A better view of my port hole shaker pocket and that cute crabby-crab! And how fun is that speech bubble?!

I used three of the colors from the color inspiration photo - Licorice, Lupine and Sour Lemon to create a starry night scene. I think this would be a cool grad card or a sweet new baby card, what do you think?

How to win:
Be sure to join in the fun and share your own creation inspired by either the sketch or the colors OR both!  Link up your project through Inlinkz on the YNS Blog.
  • YNS’ bi-weekly challenge #15 ends on Thursday, June 11, 2015, at midnight EST
  • One random participant will win a $15 gift certificate to the Your Next Stamp store.  If YNS stamps or dies are the focal point then the winner receives an additional $5 gift certificate for a total of $20.  The winner will be announced on the YNS Blog the Sunday after the challenge closes.
  • All stamps are welcome, although we love to see YNS stamps and dies on your projects.
  • The YNS Top Pick will receive the “YNS Top Pick” badge and their project will be featured on the YNS Blog the Sunday after the challenge closes.  To be considered for the Top Pick, YNS stamps/dies must be the focal point of your project.

You'll definitely want to get yourself over to the YNS Blog for complete challenge details and more inspiration from the fabby YNS Design Team. YNS supplies for today's card are linked below, but please let me know if you have questions about anything else you see.

Anchor Bracelet Teacher Gift

I recently made and packaged a couple dozen of these bracelets for our Sunday school teachers and was really pleased with the results. I hope you enjoy and find inspiration for those year end teacher gifts that we're all starting to think about.

I printed the packaging tags from my Silhouette Design Studio software with the exception of the hand stamped sentiment from Neat & Tangled.

A side view of the packaged bracelet.

Three packaging strips per 8.5 x 11 inch sheet of Kraft cardstock, scored at 5.25" and 5.75".

After scoring, cut each packaging strip approximately 2.5" wide (doesn't have to be exact).

YNS Feature Day - 'SEAS' the day!

I'm having a blast guesting with Your Next Stamp this month and have a fun little seaside card for today's Feature Day Challenge. This month's challenge is to CASE another YNS Design Team member, and I chose Thanh's adorable card that you can see HERE.

As you can 'sea', I've once again employed 2 of my favorites: ink smooshing and a nautical look. I've also fallen in love with Gumdrops (enamel dots) available at YNS, and they've got just about every color under the rainbow!

Be sure to check out the rest of the design team over at the YNS Blog and find out how you can win a stamp set of your choice!

Lawn Fawn - I'm Stuck on You

Boy was I ever surprised when I found this adorable set from Lawn Fawn that somehow got tucked between a few other things in my craft room! I'm thinking my husband would love to give this to me for our anniversary next month, so I'll tuck it away for him to somehow find. Sometimes you just gotta create/conspire your own destiny, folks.

After stamping the two cute cacti from Stuck on You, I used Copic markers to add a rocky ground base and a little color depth to each of the cacti. Wanting to really make that bright pink heart pop, I added a layer of Glossy Accents to it.
