Wednesday Stamp Club {Thank You}

Welcome to this week's Wednesday Stamp Club post with My Favorite Things. I've created a bright, cheery thank you card using this week's sketch (#148) which you can view over at the MFT Blog.

I was determined to use Razzle Berry in my Wednesday Stamp Club card this week and paired it with another bright, Sour Apple, and neutrals, Steel Blue, Steel Grey and Primitive Cream. Love the pop of the brights in contrast to the neutrals.

After stamping backgrounds from Large Scale Backgrounds and More Washi Patterns, I topped the Sour Apple polka dots with a bold sentiment in Steel Grey ink from LJD Grand Greetings. The woodgrain pattern from More Washi Patterns was stamped in Steel Blue ink on Steel Blue card stock die cut with the Die-namics Washi Tape.

The inside of the card is finished with a single brush stroke in Steel Blue ink and paint drips in Sour Apple from Abstract Art. The sentiment in Steel Grey ink is from another LJD set, Fall Foliage.

Thanks for stopping by for this week's WSC sketch card! I hope you get a chance to play along and link up your card over at the MFT Blog.

Wednesday Stamp Club {EEK}

Welcome to this week's Wednesday Stamp Club post with My Favorite Things. I've created a spooky-cute Halloween card using this week's sketch (#147) which you can view over at the MFT Blog. You can also see links to everyone playing along with this week's sketch at the bottom of this post.

I switched out the circle in the sketch with a Die-namics Baby Onesie that I stamped with the text background from DC Trick or Sweet in Steel Blue ink. Topping the Baby Onesie is a Black Licorice Felt spider from the Die-namics Paper Bag Peek-A-Boos and an Orange Fizz flag stamped with a sentiment also from DC Trick or Sweet.

I again used Trick or Sweet on the inside in Orange Fizz and Steel Grey inks along with the coordinating Die-namics Layered Treat Tag.  I have two new babies to celebrate, both born this past week, so I just might have to duplicate this one and send them sweet Halloween wishes!

Thanks for stopping by today, and remember to come play along with this sketch for your change to win MFT Cash! Details can be found at the MFT Blog. Have a great weekend.

MFT Creative Challenge - Advent Tree

Welcome to the October Creative Challenge with My Favorite Things! This month we're getting ready to countdown to Christmas! We're here to provide you with some fun inspiration to help you get into the holiday swing 'cause it's never too early, right?!  When you're finished up here, head on over to the MFT Blog for more inspiration provided by the rest of the girls participating in this month's Creative Challenge.

After much searching and pinning, I came up with an idea for an Advent Tree and constructed it in a way that will allow me to change colors from year to year with minimal cost and time investment.

The Jellybean Green Felt tree base, Natural Buttons and Hemp Cord are a permanent fixture on an 11x14 canvas base, but the Primitive Cream Die-namics Christmas Ornaments can easily be cut from another color of the MFT color family to suit my ever-changing mind. My mind is already reeling with ideas!

After machine stitching the Jellybean Green triangle/tree onto the canvas, I stitched the winding Hemp Cord in place using an overhand stitch every few inches and on each of the curves that extend beyond the edge of the tree. Each of the Natural Buttons was also hand stitched for maximum hold.

I used the numbers from Accent It - Calendar Components in Steel Blue to label each of the Christmas Ornaments. After much thought and debate, I decided to use Modge Podge to adhere each number; brushing both an undercoat and overcoat of Modge Podge for extra stay-power. After the ornaments dried, I sprayed the whole batch with Mix-ables Sheer Shimmer Mist and ended up with a mottled effect (when sprayed on top of Modge Podge) which I really like!

Each ornament was then fitted with a Hemp Cord loop secured with a red sticky dot (don't remove the second backing). The loops were made small enough to fit snugly over the hand-stitched Natural Buttons.

I hope you've enjoyed my Advent Tree and are inspired to start thinking about your own Christmas countdown project. If you have any further questions, please leave me a comment and I'll respond as quickly as I can. Thanks for stopping by today!

MFT Wednesday Stamp Club {Happy Holidays}

Welcome to my blog! I've got a card to share with you today featuring this week's sketch from the MFT Wednesday Stamp Club. You can find complete details at the MFT Blog, including how you can get yourself in the running for a little cash to spend at the MFT Boutique!

I'm really into using non-traditional holiday colors as I plow through all of the Brand New stamps and Die-namics from MFT and thought Sno Cone + Steel Grey/Blue + Razzle Berry made for another fun combo!

The stamps I've used on the front and inside are from More Washi Patterns (diagonal stripes) and Ornament Banner Builder along with a combo of old and new Die-namics: Christmas Greetings, Fishtail Flags and Let It Snowflake.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you get a chance to play along with this week's Wednesday Stamp Club sketch using some of your favorite goodies from My Favorite Things!
