YNS Fun Friday: You are Boo-tiful!

I just cannot believe we're on the heels of October already! Fortunately, the YNS design team has been Boo-ing it up all during September with fun Halloween cards and treat container ideas. This week I was inspired to make a card that resembled the cover of a classic children's storybook: Ghosts in the House!. To achieve the cover look I used a few different YNS stamps--Spooktacular, Cute Witch Ellie, and Happy Haunting. The sentiment, which I modified using the double 'o' ghost eyes from Spooktacular for the letters 'eau', is from the newly released set, Heartfelt Sentiments

I hope you enjoyed my version of Ghosts in the House and are inspired by all the Fun Friday goodness over at the YNS blog as well!  Have a great weekend.

TCP Tuesday 229: Admit One!

Welcome to the show...um, challenge! This week's TCP Tuesday challenge means you get to pull out any of your cute TCP penguins and pair them up with either the CutUps Ribbon Slide or Big Ticket die. The sombrero on my decided  penguin stamp (Hola Tequila) reminded me of Curious George wearing the hat of the man with the yellow hat, so I went with signature Curious George colors: yellow and red. And, since I was being inspired at the moment, I hopped on over to Karen Giron's blog for her current Sweet Sunday Sketch and came up with this fun little ditty!

Stop over at Susan's blog for complete TCP Tuesday 228 details and have yourself a swanky day!

{Holla} for TCP Tuesday 228!

This week's TCP  Tuesday challenge is of the color variety: daffodil, olive and navy. My shade of green isn't quite 'olive', but it came from the Echo Park A Boy's Life 6x6 pad, so I went with it. I'm sure you'd recognize that snazzy mustache anywhere (on my blog) 'cause it makes frequent appearances around this joint! Yep, it's my favorite of the CutUps Mustaches, and it's found it's merry match with the bingo card stamp from Build A Bingo and a little Holla from Step Right Up. A few buttons, stars, a bit of Blueberry Divine Twine and it's a wrap, people!

Check in on Lori for all the TCP Tuesday #228 details this week and then over at Alma's on Monday for a wrap up of the challenge along with other fun stuff from The Cat's Pajamas!

YNS Fun Friday: Halloween (no sweets) Treat!

Here's a little non-candy treat you can whip up for Halloween this year using the new Your Next Die Bookmark/Tag layered die set. I used the largest of the set to create a candy corn bookmark, embellished with a sentiment from Got Candy? and black stars using Your Next Die Whimsy Star layered die set. The bookmark is tied to a glassine bag holding a trio of Halloween pencils, all calorie free and allergy free! You could, of course, add a handful of candy to the glassine bag for a win-win treat!

Now, for part 2 of today's post, we're sharing storage/organization tricks (pun intended) for our stamps and dies. Many of you will love me because I DON'T have a fancy organization system other than keeping all of my YNS stamps and dies together in plastic 6-drawer 12x12 storage bins that look like this:

I have 4 of these storage bins filled with my stamps, separated by company. There are also drawers specifically for embellishements and patterned paper as well. Each bin comes with an attached cover, so you can easily pull out a drawer to search through without spilling the contents all over...a plus in my world! Check out the YNS Blog for more fun Halloween tricks and treats from the design team. Have a great weekend all!

TCP Tuesday 227: The Question Box

This week's assignment for TCP Tuesday is to create a teacher gift. Since I work in the world of public education (as a speech/language pathologist), I thought it would be fun to make a *funny* teacher gift, so without further adieu, I present you with my Question Box! The Question Box is designed to sit on teacher's desk, look cute and shred through the many, many questions asked of teacher each and every day. The design is based on the infamous Tattle Box in combination with the Sorting Hat from Harry Potter. It makes the job of answering questions quite a joy!

To make the Question Box, I started with a digital cut file from the Silhouette Store and covered it with school themed papers before applying adhesive. A die cut cork label using the CutUps Circus Panels, is topped with my favorite CutUps die--Mustaches, and a sentiment from The Mustache Set.

All of your TCP Tuesday questions can be answered by hopping over to Julie's blog. I guess we could say she's at the head of the class this week! Ü

YNS Blog Hop {Howdy, Nathan}!

Welcome to the tippy top of this month's YNS New Release Blog Hop. I guar-an-tee you'll find many things from this release that you can't.live.without! Let's get started with an addition to the World Kids Collection: Nathan from the USA! You can always measure my love of an image when it shows up on one of my Bingo boards, and this Nathan fella is no exception to my {image + love = Bingo board} rule!

I wanted to add some fun southwest type icons, so I went to my handy Silhouette online store and came up with the patterned papers you see here, 'HOWDY' and the cow skull. The fence behind Nathan was made from a strip of burlap with fibers removed here and there until it resembled a rickety old fence. Can't forget about those darling stars scattered all around--Your Next Die Stars, a nested set available today as well as the sentiment you see from another new set, Heartfelt Sentiments.

From here you'll hop right on over to my good buddy Susan's blog where you'll be certainly treated to something real nice...as always! Before you go, I want to give you a 'wrap up' of all the hop details and deals, and don't forget to leave us a little love in the comment section to win:
  • The hop will run from today, until Monday, September 10th at midnight (EST).
  • There are 3 New Release Prize Packages hidden throughout the hop, so make sure you leave comments for your chance to win!  Winners will be announced on the Your Next Stamp Blog on Tuesday, September 11th.
  • Karen is also offering some amazing Hop Specials!  There are several Bundle Deals, PLUS you get 15% off your order (Sept. 6-10) by using online code Sept15OFF!  Make sure you take advantage of these great deals!

YNS Sneak Peek Day 2: Back to School!

Welcome to Day 2 of Sneak Peeks for the YNS new release on Thursday! It also happens to be the first day of school for the kids, so I thought a school-related project was only fitting!

The sentiment is from the soon-to-be-released set, Heartfelt Sentiments and it's stamped on the smallest of a new Your Next Die nested set that can be used for labels or bookmarks. I also used another new release nested set from Your Next Dies--stars! So excited about the stars, because there are a gazillion uses for stars...come see how I've used them in another way when you stop back for our YNS New Release Blog Hop this Thursday.

Last, but not least is the pencil itself...a cut file from Lori Whitlock that I purchased through the Silhouette Online Store. Ü

On your way out the door, be sure to head on over to the YNS Blog for more Sneak Peeks!
