TCP New Release Projects

I've got a couple projects to share with you from the new release at The Cat's Pajamas this week, a card and one of my signature Bingo boards. Before we get to the Bingo card, we'll start with a nice, red door.

The door was created using the new CutUps Window die and topped off with 3 more Cutups: Sunflower Rosette , Easy Rosettes, and  Circus Panels. Red + sunflowers = happy!

A detail of the sentiment flag trio and CutUps Large Scallop & Wave dies in action.

Man, I love these bunnies! Two new bunny sets this release--Aye, Aye Captain & Wish.

Thanks for stopping by to take a peek today. I 'mustache' you to stop back soon for more mustache-y fun!

TCP Tuesday + New Release Blog Hop

Welcome! You may have hopped here from Susan's blog, and I'm so glad to have you here. Lots of fun stuff going on today, including our weekly TCP Tuesday challenge in conjunction with a blog hop featuring just-released stamps and CutUps dies from The Cat's Pajamas! Julie is this week's challenge hostess, so she's at the top of the lineup if you'd like to start there. Julie also has the challenge details laid out for us as well: hand made flowers with an emphasis on the CutUps dies.

I've always, always loved May Day! I have great memories of picking May flowers and leaving them on the doorstep of a loved one, most often times my Grandma Ione, who always enjoyed them. I usually just knocked on her door and handed her the bouquet I'd picked, but I also remember making May Day baskets at school, especially the version using strips of construction paper woven together. I'm guessing I love this 'holiday' as much as I do because it actually marks the beginning of my 'birthday month', wink! Enough about me though, let me introduce you to my 2012 May Day cone featuring a few CutUps dies: Easy Rosette, Heart Border, Pom Pom Flower and Lacey Butterfly.

This side view shows the new CutUps Pom Pom Flower die in action. I actually cut a small circle in the side of the cone and then cuts slits to widen the circle and allow the stem of the flower through so that it would be flush with the side of the cone (clear as mud?). You can also see the new CutUps Heart Border as well. Each of the side flowers is draped with a combination of Dove & Ivory Seam Binding and Beige Linen Thread.

The front view shows off the Easy Rosette in black topped with the Lacey Butterfly and a sentiment from the new set, Bloom. I searched and searched for the perfectly easy cone template and ended up having the best luck cutting out a cone with my Silhouette Cameo and a file from the Silhouette Online Store.

Please let me know if you have any questions, and I'll be more than happy to answer them as best as I can! Now, the show must go on, so hop on over to Christine's place for something sure-to-please!

Thanks for stoppin' and hoppin'!

Sneaky Peek Week Day 7

We're almost there, kiddos, on the heels of The Cat's Pajamas upcoming release! We'll kick off the new release with a Pajama Party at Splitcoast starting tonight at 8pm EST. While I'm on the subject of Splitcoast, take a minute to stop over at the TCP forum to add your comment in the In It To Win It thread for a chance to win today's Sneaky Peek set, Quality Time.

Speaking of Quality Time, here's what I've come up with using this adorable set designed by Alma and fellow Cat Packer, Carole.

I pieced together all of George and Ed's favorite things from the This & That Charming 6x6 pad from Echo Park and then layered a horizontal strip die cut with the new CutUps Mustache Slide, threaded with Olive Seam Binding, also from The Cat's Pajamas.

Before I sign off, I must send you to Alma's blog for a complete list of today's Sneaky Peeks and show you the entire Quality Time set.

Sneaky Peek Day 5: The Mustache Set

Welcome to Day 5 of Sneaky Peek Week with The Cat's Pajamas. Today's set is called The Mustache Set and it is hands-down my favorite set of the release! So much so that I'm sharing not one, but two cards with you today! The card above was for my 17 year old son, Hank, a couple of weeks ago, and the card below is for my oldest brother's birthday on Tuesday.

I'm telling ya what folks, this set and coordinating CutUps die is as fun as the commercial says and easy peasy to boot! So fun. So easy. Alma's a genius. 'Nuf said. Here's what it looks like on the inside...

Just a few other details you need to know about before I sign off for the weekend. Please stop over at the TCP forum on Splitcoaststampers and leave a comment on our In It To Win It thread. You could win the The Mustache stamp set just by leaving a comment. Alma's got a list of everyone sneaky peeking today, too, so stop at her blog while you're out and about.

TCP Tuesday 205 Sketch Challenge

Welcome to TCP Tuesday 205! Leigh has designed a really fun (and somewhat challenging) sketch for us, and while she's away on a little Spring Break in FL, Alma is stepping in as this week's TCP Tuesday Challenge Hostess, so be sure to stop by her place for complete challenge details.

Leigh's sketch calls for a side border, so I opted for my favorite TCP CutUps border die, Cloud Border. If you don't own this one yet, you should! It's fun and so versatile, especially with Spring upon us and Summer quickly approaching. I've paired the Cloud Border with another stand alone CutUps die, Lacey Butterfly, topped off with a single resin flower. The sentiment is from Simply Said, yet another must-have TCP commodity. I'm tellin' ya, the possibilities are endless with the goodies I've used today, especially when you combine them with yummy papers from My Mind's Eye, no?!

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to play along with Leigh's most awesome sketch!

TCP Tuesday 204

This week's TCP Tuesday 204 challenge is all about the upcoming Easter holiday--use any Easter related stamps and one of the following CutUps: Cloud Border, Grass Border or Eggs In A Basket. This challenge can be filed under EPLS (easy peasy lemon squeezy) for all you TCP lovers, because there's a plethora of Easter themed items for your choosing over at The Cat's Pajamas. Here are a few to get your creative juices flowing:
A Beary Good Year
Sugar, Sugar
Bunny Side Up
Spring Fling
CutUps Grass, Eggs in a Basket

I've incorporated A Beary Good Year, CutUps Grass & Eggs in a Basket, along with some lovely Cream Seam Binding and Beige Linen Thread, to create a non-traditional Easter Bunny tag. The Easter Bunny was cut using my Silhouette Cameo and a Lori Whitlock bunny that I purchased at the Silhouette online store. The papers used here are from My Mind's Eye (Follow Your Heart).

Well, that's about it for me and my TCP Tuesday project for this week. I'm thinking this just might be my final-final post for the week as it gets a little crazy around here during Holy Week through Easter due to my organist duties at church. Check out Alma's blog for complete TCP Tuesday details and Susan's blog as she's out hostess this week.

Wishing you all a blessed Holy Week and Easter!

TCP Tuesday 203 Color Challenge

This week's TCP Tuesday Challenge is a Color Challenge, and Lori is our Hostess with the Mostest, challenging us to use Tangerine, Lime Green and Sky Blue in our card or project. You can stop over at Alma's or Lori's blogs for complete TCP Tuesday 203 details, and don't forget to use keyword: TCPTUES203 when uploading to Splitcoast.

I actually made two cards for the challenge which are almost identical, boasting different sentiments. The above card is/was a birthday card for my younger brother who celebrated his big day on Friday (Happy Birthday, Bart!). Both cards use the CutUps Cloud Border and Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 155 as well as TCP sentiments from the following sets: Simpy Said & Away We Go.

For a bit more uniformity, I used the fish-tail sentiment banner from the CutUps Easy Rosettes die, and I LOVE the look. I'm usually a 'no fuss, no muss, eyeball method' sorta gal, but I have to say I'm really loving the way the perfectly cut fishtail banner trio is lookin' here!

Thanks for stopping by today, all! Hope you come back for more TCP Tuesday fun next week!
