MFT WSC: Dress Up!

This week's My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club challenge is all about "dress up". Really...can you think of anything more fun than dressing up a Pure Innocence girl?! I dressed up Honey Bee to "bee" all matchy-matchy with her favorite My Mind's Eye patterned paper--Alphabet Soup, and she's all buzzed about that nearby flower created with MFT's Die-namics Flower & Leaf Trio die.

You can check out the rest of the MFT Wednesday Stamp Club Challenge Team by clicking over to Kim's blog for the rest of the challenge details and team links. Remember to use keyword: MFTWSC09292010 when uploading to Splitcoaststampers.com.

Have fun playing "dress up"!

TCP Tuesday 128: Hello Fall

Susan is this week's TCP Tuesday hostess, and her challenge is to use any of the PJ Bear sets. I've chosen to combine PJ from A Beary Good Year with a sentiment from Who's This. As you can tell, PJ is welcoming fall...finally "ok" with being back at school and gearing up for the chilly weather. I guess PJ looks happy enough, but is he/she really happy about being back at work, I mean, school?! She'd probably rather be at home stamping, if you know what I mean?! Oh, sorry, didn't mean to make this post about me!

I just peeked over at Susan's, and she's got a super cute and spooky PJ Halloween scene going on, so get on over to check it out! Remember to link up your project to Alma's blog and to Splitcoaststampers as well.

Have a swanky Tuesday!

Feel the Wind in Your Ears *SFYTT*

I seriously can't get enough of these new TCP bunnies and reached for Ski Bunny for today's SFYTT. I've paired my little slope-ster with some warm and cozy Basic Grey Jovial paper, and a bit of embossed texture using my Cuttlebug Snowflake folder. The felt snowflake was cut using a SU! die, topped with a PTI button and TCP twine.

Here's Jen's original sketch along with the SFYTT lineup. Can you believe it's already the last SFYTT for September today? That means it's time to bid the fabulous Tori Wild a fond farewell--what a treat to have her playing with us this month!

MFT Wednesday Stamp Club: Make a Scene!

This week's Wednesday Stamp Club (My Favorite Things) is to create a "scene"...an easy task with the plethora of adorable Die-namics dies available from MFT! For my "scene", I've used the following dies: Banner Day Die, Fresh Cut Grass (icicles) and Sheltering Tree, along with a sweet Pure Innocence image - Snow Day, that I fell in love with last winter. I copied Christina Fischer's idea to use the Fresh Cut Grass die (upside down) as icicles, and I'm in love with the result...thank you, dear Christina! I'm guessing we'll see Christina's idea used over and over as the holidays and winter months approach.

Just a couple of housekeeping notes, in case you're interested: patterned paper is Basic Grey's Jovial line, the trees were die cut using Kraft cardstock and Diamond Stickles are giving her hat and snowballs a bit of extra sparkle.

Head over to Kim's blog at 11 am EST for a complete list of participating designers for today's Wednesday Stamp Club to see what sort of "scenes" the rest of the WSC Challenge Team has been making.

Remember to link your "scene" to Kim's blog for your chance to win a little MFT cash! You can also post your creation to SCS using keyword: MFTWSC09222010.

TCP Tuesday 127: Color Challenge

Today's color challenge is teal, eggplant and olive...yum, huh?! Sony is our hostess with the mostest, so be sure to check her out today! I've matched up the colors with one of the new releases, Take a Deep Breath. I can't get enough of these bunnies--they crack me up! I also love the new scripty font Alma used on a few of the new sets, including this sentiment, "Oops!".

Be sure to post your TCPTUES127 creation to Alma's InLink for your chance to be the next Swanky Stamper and/or win a few Cat Cash bucks. We'd also love to see your creation at SCS using keyword: TCPTUES127.

Have a great Tuesday,

A Bewitching {SFYTT}!

I sat down to work on my SFYTT card this morning, trying to combine it with an 80th birthday card that I need for a party this afternoon, and it just wasn't working...know what I mean?! So, I pulled out this sweet little TCP Witchy I'd colored awhile ago and matched her up with some Cosmo Cricket Matilda papers. I don't usually say it, but I really like how this one turned out. Just goes to show I needed a little TCP love this morning...hope you're feeling it too! If you haven't gotten enough TCP love lately, check out the entire new release, including new CutUps dies!

Here's Jen's sketch along with the SFYTT roll call...

Wednesday Stamp Club: Super Star!

Today's MFT WSC theme is Super Star: create something with stars or a super star. Let's call mine a vintage super star...this guy's probably in some football hall of fame by now, ha! I attempted this black and white photo look this past summer for one of my TCP Tuesday challenges, and have since studied Leigh and Sony's (much better) versions and decided to give it another whirl with today's card. If you're interested, I used Copics C1, C3, C5 & C7.

Can't wait to see what the other WSC team has done with today's challenge! Be sure to upload your superstar or star-studded creation to SCS using keyword: MFTWSC09152010 and you could win a little MFT spending money!

I'm your TCP Tuesday challenge hostess today, and I want you to go "Mad for Plaid"! I've used some fun plaid paper from Basic Grey (Jovial 6x6 pad) to paper piece my sheep's scarf as well as a layer on my card. If you don't have a scrap of plaid paper in your stash, start thinking outside the box: be inspired by the colors in your favorite plaid pattern, or check out this plaid silhouettes tutorial by Joan Ervin.

TCP Sneaky Peek {SFYTT}

Here's a sneaky peek of Who's This?, featuring this adorable little girl out for a stroll with her pet owl...sort of Harry Potter-ish, huh?! There's a new artist in the TCP house and she's got these fun, bold, unique and whimsical images that you are going to fall in love with, so dig out all the extra change in the sofa, car and laundry room for the upcoming release on September 14th at The Cat's Pajamas! Alma is releasing a total of 12, yes 12, new sets along with new to-die-for CutUps dies...more goodness than one girl can usually handle, but I have faith in y'all--you can handle it! Ü

Here is Jen's original sketch along with links to all the SFYTT sisters for more sketchy goodness! Remember to upload your SFYTT creations to Jen's blog and/or to Splitcoaststampers.

TCP Sneaky Peek + MFT = Wednesday Fun!

I have lots to share with you today, including a Sneaky Peek from TCP and my MFT Wednesday Stamp Club card, so let's get buckled in and rolling! I'll start with my "Back to School Blues" card for MFT WSC and save the suspense of my sneaky peek...

My sweet little PI You Make the Grade girl looks waaaay more excited about school than I am right now. I'm just having a hard time juggling everything, getting back to work full time, taking care of the kids and hubby, and finally finding time to stamp! I've colored her with a combination of Copics and colored pencils & gamsol and then matched her up with cute October Afternoon papers. I think my favorite part of this card is the Die-namics oval chain border. I'd originally thought I'd put the border at the top of the patterned piece and then played around with the placement and thought it made a nice home just where you see it.

Let's see what the other WSC sisters have done with this week's challenge and make sure that you use keyword MFTWSC09082010 if you're uploading to SCS.:

Ok, let's get on with Part 2 of this post: my TCP Sneaky Peek...

I'm peeking Coffee, Tea or Meow today, complete with a Sprinkle tea party! I've matched up my Sprinkle tea party with some delicious Crate Paper Restoration papers for the perfect vintage looking tea party, so of course, Sprinkle had to dust off her pearls! See that pinking border? That's coming your way from TCP as well on September 14th, so be sure to come back for more sneak peeks, the release party at SCS on September 13th and a full blog hop on release day!

Cheerio!

Masculine Motifs {SFYTT}

My sketch card today is doubling as a birthday card for my 12 year old nephew...Happy Birthday, Anders! I love to create personalized birthday cards for my nephews and nieces, and you can tell from my card that Anders loves to hunt! Besides being an avid hunter of deer and turkey, he also loves to fish, and on top of that--he's an all around GREAT kid!

I used PTI's Masculine Motifs, stamping the deer image several times across the circle panel without reinking and I really like the look. It reminds me of early morning or early evening deer sightings, watching them graze in the early morning mist or as the sun sets. Ok, so my hubby loves to hunt, so there have been many an opportunity to look-see this familiar scene! The chocolate layer was embossed with PTI's woodgrain Impressions plate, ruffed up a bit on the lower edge for a little more texture. I added button twine as my lower horizontal layer and a bit of piercing to add more focus to the main image. Lastly, I think the mix of greens is sort of fun and gives that "camo" look, something we see much of in my house!

Let's see what the sisters have done with the sketch and give a warm welcome to the fabulous September Guest Designer, Tori Wild!

MFT Wednesday Stamp Club Sketch Challenge

It's time for MFT's Wednesday Stamp Club (WSC) challenge, and with it being the first Wednesday of the month, the challenge is always a sketch to follow. I've used the adorable set, Little Loveosaurus, paper pieced with a scrap of patterned paper from Cosmo Cricket's Garden Variety 6x6 pad. One of the sentiments from the set is stamped repeatedly, creating a background on the chartreuse strip, and a bit of twine wraps it all up.

Here is the original sketch...

I hope you can find a little stamping time to play along with this week's sketch, one of my favorite types of challenges. Use keyword: MFTWSC09012010 when uploading to SCS. You can also link to the MFT blog as well. I can't wait to see which MFT images you decide to use with the sketch!
